Scoot's tech could have gone the other way and lit a fire under the team. I don't fault him for that. At least he is a fighter. These games are, if nothing else, showing who rises to the occasion: Jrue, Deni, Scoot, and Timelord. That's it. The rest are not up to high stakes play, evidently. Would love to be wrong.

I really enjoyed the game. Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper are a thrill to watch
The arena was on fire! I haven't seen 300 level that packed or the stadium that loud in years!
I think it was louder then when Dame did the wave! ( aided by the new sound system, obviously)

But when the fourth quarter started, it was deafening! Had to yell to talk to the person next to ya!..
And then be asked to repeat because we can't hear every other word.

Tough loss. Tough tough loss.

Yeah most of my disappointment is in how small the list seems to be, but we play to learn and we are learning.

Mmm... the money goes to charity, not Jody personally. She had both contractual and ethical reasons to take the highest bid. If Phil wanted the team, he should have paid the going rate. As you say, he's DEEP POCKETED, so if he really wanted the team, but was too much of a cheapskate to pay for it, that's hardly Jody's fault.

barfo
Did he actually get to make an official offer?

I still think we can win the series. Just have to give a few more players concussions.

Worse call of the night castle jumps off the ground lands and starts dribbling again a walk. Whole arena sees it and screams players stop and refs swallow the whistle
Ridiculous!
Then the announcers on the game I think it was Candice was all "You got to play through the whistle". Seriously? Half the players on the court were walking the other way including the Spurs.

If we had someone who could shoot we would have been up 20+ in first half. There was a time we were up 13-14 then missed like 4 open 3s in a row if my memory is correct.
I kind of felt there was a point when the Blazers could have blown this game wide open and let the Spurs hang around way too long. Last 5 mins of the second quarter. Then not absolutely punishing them early in the third. Classic letting a good team back in a game.

also, team needs to stfu.

so much grandstanding after game 2.

clingan is complete shit this series and is getting worked by kornet. he needs to stop talking and complaining so much and focus.
High intensity in the playoffs so I get the animation with calls or no calls, but Clingan definitely seems impacted by the refs. He threw his hands up at one point when he got a foul called in his favor, as if he was looking for it, or waiting for it. Proceeded to go 1/2 at the line.

For what it’s worth I woke up and watched the second half, and I think the officiating was very biased in San Antonio’s favor during the part of the game I watched. There were definite no calls when there was contact against us, and there were calls for San Antonio when there was negligible contact against us.

Who TF let the Texas Turncoat in the practice facility?

Unless it was Dames call, that person should be fired immediately…

We will never NEVER EVER be contenders dude. Fucking get over it.
Broooo? Calm down. They are currently one or two players away from being top 6 or 8 in the league. That is a contender.
If a team is top 4 in either conference you have a valid chance at making the finals. If you are in the conference finals you are indeed contending.

Sometimes it pays to be on East Coast time. When I went to bed, the Blazers were winning.

And you don't think Jody knew about the likelihood the team would increase in value with the new media deal?

I think some good advice is for anyone to find a spouse that loves them the way you love Phil Knight ❤️
Knight made his offer in 2022. The new media deals were signed in 2024. The rumors of the new media deals started popping up in 2023. You've got a weird idea of time

Phil Knight made his interest in buying the Blazers public:

in other words, he tried. And it's not credible to think he just kept coming back with the same offer. Do you think Dundon's 4.25B purchase price was his first and highest offer?

now, by the time the Vulcans opened the Blazers up for bidding, maybe the reason PK had no interest is because he knew the price was too high. It's also the case that he's 87 and nobody else in his family seems nearly as invested in sports as PK is. So, even if he bought the team back then, they might be up for sale pretty soon anyway

Lol stop. You understand they knew that the old media deal was coming to an end, right? And that it wasn't a giant leap to think that the new media deal would be substantially more?

Yeah, weird idea of time.

this is what some people said about Rasheed and all his stupid T's

that's just it though...stupid T's are mainly just stupid, and that one was stupid. The only fire that was lit was under Dylan Harper, and he used the flames to burn down the Blazer house of cards

Exactly. Scoot could just have stopped, let out a primal scream and run up court, letting the play feed the crowd and energize the team. Instead, he creates a stoppage in play, gives the Spurs a point, and it's a point that lets them hold the lead at the end of the quarter. Everything he did that was good was lost in one moment of Russell Westbrookism ... thinking winning the game is showing up the other guy for one play rather than having more points on the scoreboard at the end.

On top of that, he tries to show up the son and brother of NBA players. Just total knuckleheadism.

Forbes knew what you're claiming everybody knew and they set the valuation of the Blazers at 2.1B in 2022. Why didn't they set the valuation at 2026 numbers?

Forbes is the end all be all for valuation. You are right.
