As I said last time regarding the previous game's 3rd quarter, if your shot isn't falling, you can't just run-and-gun your way away from the Spurs four guard rotation. You're literally just feeding the Spurs with possessions.

Naturally, the lead has dwindled to nothing now.

Knowing when to slow down and play a half-court style against a team like the Spurs is vital.

Also, if no one is making their shots (around the time you lose a double digit lead), it may be time to put in whoever was popping off in the 6th man role. Sharpe or Grant, for example. The starters do not generate enough offense, on their own.

By the time Tiago has adjusted to this by doing exactly what I just said? The lead became 1-2 possessions from a tie.

Now that the lead is gone, you're just rewarding the Spurs with a slower game so they can play methodically against you.

Bad timing regarding substitutions and pace adjustment, overall.

This team is about as mentally tough as a wet paper towel. I swear, two straight games they get big leads and the other team makes the run and instead of being disciplined and slowing it down a bit to break momentum and trying to get to the line, they fire up crazier and crazier shots, mostly 3s.

We need to acquire common sense in the offseason.
