I find it interesting that Seahawk fans up in Seattle seem to be OK with Jody. Yet Blazer fans down here seem to not be a fan of her. I was looking at a Reddit thread about who would raise the 12th Man flag before the game yesterday and the majority wanted it to be Jody, because it's been a tradition, Paul did it for the previous NFC Championship home games. Hardly anyone was talking trash about her. Which is great IMO.
I can promise you if she had the Blazers playing for and winning a championship last June Portland would absolutely love Jody Allen and they would be screaming for her to keep the team.
Instead we have been tanking for 4 straight years and possibly a fifth if this year turns sour. We have a coach that is the center of a gambling scandal. We have a group of players that can get hot and play above their skill set but most of the time end up being what they are. A lotto team.
On top of all of that Paul and Jody are Seattle people. Not Portlanders. It makes sense they like her there.

man they’ve owned the team between both of them since the 80s. They’re damn near Portlanders at this point

Yea the Raiders have sucked for two decades but sadly he isn't even close to being the worst owner in the sport, that easily goes to the Browns with the Bengals and Cardinals not far behind for being total cheapskates even if they've lucked into a little more success on the field. And yes I'll keep talking shit about seattle because that's what sports fans do!

I just looked at several lists of the worst owners in the NFL and he was on all of them. Sure, he's not the absolute worst, but he sucks.

Minnesota Vikings broadcaster said in podcast protesters in Minnesota being paid and possibly receiving hazard pay for protesting in extreme cold.
No lie, his name is Paul Allen. Oi vey!

He was put on leave.

I built one of Paul’s guest houses on the island up there. No they are Seattle through and through. Portland can’t hold a candle to the money in Seattle.

If you have money why would you ever decide to live in Oregon? Just to fork over 10%+ a year to the state.

There are plenty of people in California with money. Why do they live there?
Maybe Oregon seems cheap when your comparing with California.

But you have a smaller state in Washington with about double the people of Oregon - so maybe a lot of people just keep moving north.

Oregon tops nationwide list for inbound movers. Is population growth on the rebound?

I'm assuming you haven't been in Oregon for quite some time (if ever).

Oregon was one of the top moved to states for multiple years in the past decade+.

I was there in Oct, usually spend about a month in the summer. Spent my first 33 years there.

We'd seriously consider moving back at some point but the income tax is a deal breaker since I work remote as I could live in Vancouver where I'd save enough every year to buy a new car.

Kind of a cherry picked year to run one stat - its growing less than Washington State when you look over decades.

How many representatives has Oregon added to the US House? That's a better representative of growth vs the general US.

Decisions decisions. Many people have decided Oregon is worth it, hence why it continues to get more expensive and the population continues to grow.

I personally would rather not live in Vancouver, especially if I was working in Portland and had to make that awful commute. Not a bad idea if you work remote or your business is in Vancouver.
Ive lived in Oregon my entire life and can't think of any other state i'd rather live in. I'd rather retire in Corvallis or somewhere like that than Vancouver.

Oregon added one rep in 1980 and one rep in 2020. So yeah it's something. But it's not some massive growth like a few local Oregonians claim.

I've spent a lot of time in many states and many countries. They all have advantages and disadvantages. Nice areas and crappy areas. We love living in Austin Texas but obviously there are drawbacks here. We spend a lot of the summer in Oregon.

I've driven across the country. The coasts are by far the best places to call home. Everywhere in the middle is a doo door platter. Especially the Midwest.

I've heard good things about Austin but I don't think i'd ever live in Texas.
