I had a completely torn ACL and was able to do quite a bit before I ultimately got surgery - much more than you would expect. It's very personal though - some people hardly use them. Other can hardly walk. As an avid skier I can see how an expert like her might be able to still do it fine. Its minutes shes skiing - not hours like in football or basketball. She is certainly going to have a higher risk of further injury and if there is an injury very possible she has meniscus damage.

Hope for the best for her.
My daughter was setting deadlift PRs and playing full basketball games with a fully ruptured ACL.

Now, she wasn't playing full basketball games as well as before she ruptured it.

I just thought it was amazing that it was even possible she could make any of those cuts.

Luckily, that euro in which she strained her MCL was the excuse we needed to get insurance to cover the MRI to identify the ruptured ACL.

Yeah the ACL is just an extra ligament that can prevent the knee from buckling out of position. But it's not really used in the normal extension motion of the knee. With a knee brace that buckling motion can be mechanically prevented.

Ridiculous insurance just doesn't cover these things any time there is symptoms of ligament damage. Glad she eventually got what she needed.

Medical insurance is a scam. It’s so corrupt that it’s disgusting.

It seems like every time I turn on the Olympics stupid curling is on. 👎🏼
That is an interesting take. The sport is like a cult favorite during the Olympics and it all but disappears for the next 4 years only to pop up again next Winter Olympics.
I really don’t know why but it tends to be mesmerizing to watch at times.

I can definitely do without figure skating as well. I appreciate what they do, it’s impressive. But for me it’s boring to watch. 🥱 But I’m obviously in the minority because the TV ratings for it are huge.
I’d rather watch the skiing, hockey, snowboarding, and even the weird sledding.

I’d love to see Max Verstappen get a few months training in the bobsled & see how he’d compare to the average Olympic bobsled person.

Interesting. I wonder how NBA players feel about the idea.
I like it.

Having top players leave their teams during the stretch run of the NBA season would be hugely disruptive. Maybe during Olympic years forego the All Star break and have an Olympics break in its place?

The NHL does it.
That's a great idea! but I doubt the NBA would go for it. They probably make too much $ during All Star weekend to consider it.

NHL handles Olympics being in the middle of their season. Maybe hockey players are just tougher.
