This dude was before my time (when I was young and without an interest in basketball), but I've often heard of him, and I knew who he was when I became a Blazer fan.

Man...he sure looked like fun to watch!
He was my hero back then.
 
He grew up around Houston, played college ball there, retired from Houston and won an NBA Championship there. I don't blame him at all for that. Houston is his home for all of his life and where he got his ring.

Now if he'd won his ring here, then I'd have an issue.

I sure as hell wished more pro athletes repped Portland that way. It's why I respect Payton Pritchard so much for going to Oregon. It makes up for every local musician who makes it big and then shits all over this town.
