Damn I can't wait for tommorow after seeing the previews. Makes me want to fast forward until the last ending. Stupid Fox and their amazing previews.

After gathering myself after my shockedness...I'm still shocked-ish.

Man, I don't blame Curtis for trying to do what he did. If I went through the same sh*t he went through, I would of capped the guy before Jack even had a chance to get that look and shoot him.

The Nuke on the other hand. Wow. That's the huge shocker. Can't even predict how the US will overcome that and the projected 100 000's of casualties and the fact that there's four more out there.

I had a feeling Curtis would die before the season started but I never thought Jack would do it, I hated that Curtis died, I liked him (well I think he is dead, I am not entirely sure).
I was shocked that Jack did it and then 3 minutes later the Nuke goes off and I was like - What...The...F***!

Then 5 minutes later I came on here.

I knew Curtis was going to die, I made that prediction to my sister, I told her Jack is going to kill him. I had no idea the bomb was going to go off, but I kind of figured that out as the episode progressed.

The acting, writing, and casting is really, really bad on 24. I'm gonna try to watch it this season, but seriously, I was laughing throughout the entire episode at how silly this thing is. If fans could just admit that it's a guilty-pleasure show, and not anything groundbreaking, I wouldn't be annoyed by them.

and no, it isn't expressing your opinion that is offensive, it is how you tell people why they watch the show when it is most likely not true for 99% of them.

It has to do with your mental capacity.

Most 24 fans just want "OMG GUNZ N EXPLOSIONZ", sad but true. They don't care about continuity, character development, realism, or any other thing. What I said in this thread earlier was extremely toned down, anyway.

-The US would be a police state if half this stuff happened
-The head of the Islamic Association of America doesn't know Arabic? HAHAHA!
-The way they killed Blackjack was horrible. They wanted OMG important character to die, and it's like they wrote it in five minutes. Curtis could've taken that guy out if he wanted; if he had a suicidal vendetta going on with the ex-terrorist, the ex-terrorist would've already been dead. This is of course ignoring the point that Curtis is not stupid, and wouldn't have pulled that **** when and where he did. I could've written him off of the show better than that.
-The president was in the White House when he knew an attack was in progress. In reality, he would've been on Air Force One on his way to Camp David, or somewhere else. Multi-target attacks, anyone? On 9/11, the Secret Service took Cheney to the underground bunker before he even knew what was going on.

That's stuff I picked up on just watching a single episode while stoned. Sorry, I wish 24 was a good show, well-written, well-cast (Gabe from Six Feet Under as CTU supervisor? Mary-Lynn the sketch comedian as the second most important character?), or well-anything. It's not. But that's okay, right? They have explosions and gun fights.

There's nothing wrong with evaluating it based on how realistic it is. Fact is that the show's main appeal is action, crazy scenarios, and surprises. That's nothing to be ashamed about though.
 
Put it this way:

Monday morning at the water cooler, people talk about the popular show 24. What are they more likely to talk about?

The action, twists and turns.

Or

How Chloe's character development is poor.
 
The character development is poor outside of the main buffs (Jack Bauer). I don't watch the show for character development, if I did I wouldn't enjoy it. It's an amazing show though, for what it's supposed to be.

When I want character development, I watch The Wire and Rescue Me.

This episode was on of the worst episodes for the first 45 minutes, and then the **** hit the fan.

-Jack's brother is a fucktard, I was so pissed.
-Josh is Jack's son, hence the awkward feeling in the room, and why the kid looks 100% like Elisha Cuthbert.
-Next week's episode looks flippin amazing.

Prison Break was good, but the show is WAY too predictable.
