#24 Anfernee Simons

Winners change the way to play, not try to be a me too team
We have good pt guard vets to mentor him...that's what is a difference maker and our leaders give a shit about their teammates ..a rare thing in sports

That's not how he got his reputation. Whitsitt's strength was wheeling and dealing, mainly in trades other than on draft day. (He liked to obtain a 1st-round pick in a trade, then use it to grease a later trade instead of saving it for the draft.) He isn't as well-known for his drafts (but he wasn't bad, cough, Shawn Kemp).
I know all about him. He was also known for taking flyers on young hit or miss projects in the draft. We can still make trades after today.

Had he gone to college, Simons would likely have been one of the first PGs chosen in next year's draft. I doubt there was a single player on the board at 24 who would have been a difference maker for the Blazers next season As far as I'm concerned, the 24th pick was next to worthless in terms of immediate impact. What the Blazers did was grab a free future lottery PG. I understand the frustration with our situation, but not the angst over this pick. As a long time and long term fan, I like this pick 100 times more than I liked the Swanigan pick last year.

Well to each his own...I wouldn't enjoy that sort of pessimism going into next season myself but hey...not everyone will enjoy the process
I respect you but I really don’t understand you man... it’s like you only care about being good enough to make the playoffs. After last seasons utter failure we all should be very vocal and negative. That’s the only way change happens.

He wasn't my first choice, but given what was available at 24, I like him better at 24 than I do Trae Young in the top 10. Simons could end up being a lottery level talent. Just more risk associated with him.

That’s the only way change happens.
I've been a fan forever and change happens anyway...constructive criticism is healthy...blatant pessimism is not interesting to me....there's plenty of that fuel around the forum..not my thing. Given the current NBA culture....I'd be thrilled to get to the WCF ….I'm realistic about not winning a championship next season but after that...I'm hoping we'll have a core identity..there's been a lot of roster changes since we had a core identity with Lamarcus, Wes, Nico, Dame and Rolo….we're not that solid yet but Nurk gave me some hope....we need scoring, speed and vets to make the next step. I don't see a lot to bitch about myself...we're a work in progress until we're not

Being negative on RipCityTwo.com leads to change within the Blazers organization???

So the blazers fucked up by passing on Donavan Mitchell who is 6'3 and a 6'10 wing span, and also fucked up by taking Simons who is 6'3" with a 6'9" wing span....... that damn 1 inch.

Olshey said he had mis-estimated this team (actually, he didn't take blame and said they had improved faster than "anyone" thought). So he would now stop his youth movement. Was he lying, or did he flip-flop?

Could have been smoke screens making teams think we were trading the pick?

He's either not done or he's done in Portland would be my guess...Olshey has to move a needle before training camp

I'm okay with the Pick because Simons has great upside, but holy shit he looks like a 13 year old teenager. His First nba years will be so difficult for him

To go the other way, there is a poster who thinks being positive towards Meyers will make him better, so.. It goes both ways. It doesnt matter on either side lol.

Is it a Michael Jackson Poster or a John Travolta poster?
