From everything I've read, his body has developed late as well, meaning he's probably not done growing.

I’m optimistic he can eventually play next to both.

I wasn't really happy with this pick when it was made, and, obviously, it does nothing for us immediately. But I didn't initially like the Collins pick last year.

Having had a couple of hours to digest it, I am talking myself into liking it a little. I watched some of his workouts and highlights, read up on him, and there are things about him that remind me of Dame. His shot, his explosiveness at the rim, his willingness to learn and work on his game. I wonder if this choice was made with an eye toward Lillard eventually moving on and having a similar player to step in, someone who hopefully will have had a couple of years to learn from watching Dame.

The other thing that jumped out at me is how young he looks. He's got a lot of physical maturing to do, but I wonder if he still grows a couple of inches.

A Lillard like player but 6-5 or 6-6, IMO, gives you a lot of reason to use the 24th pick. Granted, the odds he reaches his ceiling are slim. But if you are going to be picking 24th and you can't move it for something, you might as well swing for the fences.

I'm okay with the Pick because Simons has great upside, but holy shit he looks like a 13 year old teenager.

Would you prefer we'd taken someone who looks like he's 50? We tried that once:

Didn't work out so well.

Simons looks like Brandon Ingram’s little brother.

Taurean Green went to U. of Florida. So he must be one of the ones who trained a little bit at IMG, and they put him on their list to increase their reputation. Sounds like most on the list did only that, but not Simons.

I know next to nothing about Simons other than what I've read over the past week and seen this evening in skimming through his underwhelming pro day video, but I can't help but feeling, if you swapped the hype train of he and Fultz, the two players would be indistinguishable. Granted, I hated Fultz as a high lottery pick, but as a #24? That's a no-brainer.

Simons is repped by drew rosenhaus? Since when does he rep nba players

So according to the ringers Kevin o’connor, the lakers wanted Simons and would’ve drafted him at 25.

Yes, at least one mock predicted the Lakers #25 for him. The Lakers are developing from a sub-.500 level and can wait years on high schoolers. As Olshey said in recent days, we need experience to bust to the top, now.
