...where we were and/or what we were doing when this happened. Doesn't seem like it has been 25 years.

I loved it when I saw Tyson go down & DAMN! Anyone who bet on Douglas won a mint that night.

I remember that night. Was supposed to be an easy one for Tyson in Japan. Looked like it early when he put Douglas down. I remember being in shock when Buster knocked him out. Hard to believe that was so long ago.

...^^^ yeah, I was about to lock up a restaurant I was managing, and a friend called me and told me that "Buster Douglas just knocked out Tyson"...I laughed and and said "Yeah, right". My friend said "No BS, turn on ESPN"....so I did, and I laughed again because by that time, Tyson had become a real dickhead. I was glad he got KOed.

It was a Saturday Night fight being shown on HBO from Tokyo. I bet a lot of pepole didn't see it and found out about it the next day.

Not quit the 'Thrilla in Manila" or "Rope a Dope" in Zaire, and other Ali-Frazier-Foreman classics, but right up there next to those 3 greats.

At that time, it looked like Tyson was going to own the Heavyweight belt for a decade, and seemed invincible, until this classic upset.

Yet, I still think Cassius Clay's KO of Sonny Liston was the one fight that took my breath away, tho' I prefer the Clay/Ali vs Foreman slugfests.

Yep, Norton broke Ali's jaw, but Spinks, a big scrawny underdog, took his brand of Alley Fighting to Ali, who would of ever thought so???? Another big payoff to the underdog....!

As a person I thought Clay / Ali was an asshole, but as a fighter he was the best & most entertaining I ever saw.
