All of these trades make us worse and put us in a worse situation.I guess this would be some trades Neil could make that would really piss some people off but work out aright in the end.

Fake news like this makes me wanna punch the air...
I read this yesterday and have already told the author how stupid he is. Why post crap like this? It's an awful article.
This brings up a question: Who is more bitchmade, Kyrie or Durant? On talent alone, Kyrie is the better player, and he is 2 years younger with Championship experience... but Dame is the heart and soul of this team and his combination of talent, loyalty, and character is rare. No way I would trade Dame for a guy like Kyrie... especially after seeing the video of him laughing at his teammate being mocked by their rival.
On talent alone, Kyrie is the better player
I'll put Lillards durability up there as well. Lillard has had some bad luck with bad falls ect but Irving seems to miss a lot of games every other year. Also Lillard is as productive as irving while not getting consistent wide open all the time and being the option defenses are looking to stop while Irving gets open looks because the defensive is to focused on the best player in the NBA that plays alongside Irving. On talent alone, they are almost identical players. Irving is a better finisher, Lillard has deeper range. Otherwise, they're basically equally productive on offense and poor on defense. In this era, I'd take Lillard's near-Curry-like range over Irving's better finishing.
Lillard's range + Lillard's leadership + Lillard's durability + Lillard's loyalty = Lillard >>>>Irving. On talent alone, they are almost identical players. Ok Neil. All of these trades make us worse and put us in a worse situation.
This is the difference to me. Kyrie has had the privilege of playing alongside (arguably) the most defense-altering player alive, who also happens to have amazing court-vision. Dame has been responsible for creating the vast majority of his own offense from day 1. Yet their advanced stats are nearly identical. When 1 player is in a harder conference, in a tougher situation, and is equally productive, it's not unreasonable to assume that player is better. Also Lillard is as productive as irving while not getting consistent wide open all the time and being the option defenses are looking to stop while Irving gets open looks because the defensive is to focused on the best player in the NBA that plays alongside Irving.
This is why we can't have nice air.
One word:
Health.
/Thread.
One other word: Loyalty.
Dame wants to be here. Everybody who thinks that Kyrie is going to plan on playing out his career in Portland, raise your hand.
That it was.To be fair, the article did say it was about trades the Cavs should consider, not trades the Blazers should consider.

Not a hot topic huh?
It's a stupid opinion, and if the author thinks it'd be a good move to trade Dame for Kyrie, he doesn't know Portland, doesn't watch enough basketball, and doesn't understand the difference in contract situations, thus making him uneducated on the topic, thus making his opinion stupid.Because what we have to say is so much more important? I hope you didn't actually call him stupid over his opinion.
