Jim Cantore said we are going to get Thunder Snow.

Normally the Beagle is on my butt like white on rice to go for her walk. Not today, I let her out, she did her thing and scooted right back in. Normally I'm pretty active but since this cold snap started I've been a dull boy. Spent most of the day yesterday watching TCM Classics, Godzilla, Rodan, Attack of the 50 Foot Woman, nd one of my all time favorite Sci-Fi flicks Forbidden Planet.

>It seems we are all in this mess. I was viewing the '49 blizzard in Montana on Utube. That gave me inspiration to relax in my warm home today. I also want to see "Analyze That" featuring DeNiro and Crystal. Currently watching Robert Palmer (Four Stars-RIP) PS: Always liked The Blob with Steve McQueen, The Thing with Kurt Russell on Amazon Fire stick or the tube.

I've had it with this winter already.

A great time to stay inside and watch Movies, no doubt. No more Bowl games 'til next monday.

Seen some damn good flics over the Holidays, i.e.
  • Why Him??? (Bryan Cranston/James Franco/K.M. Key) a hilarious almost raunchy comedy, yet funny as hell; and a movie that makes me glad I never had to raise a daughter.

  • If you ever get a chance to see the 8 part mini-series Taboo w/Tom Hardy. Season one, I'd highly recomend it, twas epic, a drama unlike many I've seen, give Hardy an award. Season one originally on FX, now on Netflix/Hulu. Season 2 begins Jan 10th on FX. A great story set in 1812, worth checking out....

  • Hardy's dual role in the film "Legend" also worth a watch...
  • "Revenant" kinda sorta, Hardy and DiCaprio..
  • Valerian and the City of a 1,000 Planets, if you've not already, the story George Lucas read as a kid. A big budget french made movie, that lost 50 mil $$$ at the box offices, but a flick my Son and I enjoyed....
  • "Chance" with Hugh Laurie made for Hulu, worth the watch
  • "Ozark" made for Netflix, worth the watch also, very much so; with Jason Bateman.
  • "Patriot", 2 yrs old; made for Netflix, a great drama, and dark comedy.
  • "Goliath" on Amazon Prime, definitely a must see w/Billy Bob Thornton writing, directing, and starring.

Amazon Prime worth the price per year, for free deliveries, as well as the Amazon Prime Movie channel. AP has Ken Burns "Baseball" classic documentary, and tons of other worthwhile stuff. Another non-Burns Documentary, "Fastball", detailing the history of the pitch, and those who threw one harder than other, as well as the erroneous methods of timing the greats, incl incorrect measurements used to clock Nolan Ryan's 101 mph blazer, now said to be 108 mph. Wrong distance used to clock his pitches.

Every year after the SAG awards, all I hear is how the actresses/actors, and directors all pile up around the tables of Netflix/Amazon execs, begging for jobs. After all they've got money, other big studios seem to not have or wan't to spend on mini-series movies, which usually offer you the entire year or 8 part 1 hr each series. Once you start you can't stop watching.....

I saw Animal House that was a funny movie.

ah, here's a clip from "Old School", make it 2- yes "streaking"....

You will be so cold by the time you get home, you'll turn the heater off in a blizzard...

...you betcha !

"You can have your $500 Million Power Ball Jackpot but I'll take 4 episodes of thundersnow."

...what a fucking idiot.

^^^^
Ol' Jim has been out in one too many storms, suffering from permanent brain damage from permanent Hypothermia.... geezus you'd think he just saw Judge hit a 700 foot homerun.

Cantore gets his thrills out of watching birds shit in Hurricanes. I think he's also been hit a few too many times by Lightning strikes....

Cantore by this time next year:

the full clip from The Great Outdoors: 1:21 mins. One helluva funny fkng comedy....

Winter Wonder Land my ass!!!!!!!!!!

When I was a teen here in t/desert, we got 2 feet of snow on 3 different winter/occassions. We'd put chains on a VW Bug, tie some water ski ropes to the bumper, put on the snow skiis, and away we'd go, thru neighborhoods of course....

geez, all this talk of snow, ice, cold, I've been watching fires from ice storms breaking power lines, on YouTube...

So much talk of cold, it's 69 here already, and I can't decide whether to wear a T-Shirt, a long sleeve shirt, or a Tank Top A-Frame Wife Beater....!! "Hey Stella!!! Bring me a beer",,,

>Reverent was insane. It was amazing considering it was based on a true story. Being mauled by a bear has got to be a scare to death experience.

Hope we don't lose power today.

Stamp, here's a trailer of "Taboo" from F. Ridley Scott. Can't wait to see Bladerunner 2049-

In case ya' can't tell, I thought Taboo was as good as anything I'd seen in all 2017...
