Obama also voted to continue spending in Iraq...TWICE.

Plus, I imagine Obama has "voted with Bush" many times the past two years considering his party has controlled legislation and Bush has signed their bills into law.

Daaaaaang. Having McCain say he's not Bush at the beginning of the ad, and then having him tout his voting record of Bush at the end of the ad draws a really nice contrast.

Not only does it tie McCain to Bush, but it has the added benefit of making him appear erratic and inconsistent.

In one ad it combines both of McCain's greatest weaknesses: Bush and McCain's own lack of consistency.
 
Quoting McCain himself on voting along with Bush, and saying it was higher than his own Republican colleagues, was the master stroke of that ad. So much for "maverick." Even McCain disputes that.

I don't know. Which is the point. In terms of electionering, Obama is successfully tying McCain to Bush. Political ads aren't about deep truth...you were the one lauding that deceptive ad by McCain where he just cut together four sound bites of Obama saying "I agree with John on this." Why not so congratulatory to Obama on this one? The only difference is this didn't look as amateurish as that one. ;)

Also, Obama didn't style himself a "maverick." When you run on bucking the establishment and then are quoted proudly saying that you voted with the establishment more than anyone else, it's pretty bad news.
 
Well they don't mention that McCain was out campaigning and that he missed over 60 percent of the votes in 2007.

I wonder if this were Obama that would be mentioned.

He might have voted with Bush 90 percent of the time, but that does not necessarily mean that McCain agreed with Bush 90 percent of the time.
 
But I thought the republicans were the only party to run attack ads. :dunno:

The last couple of election cycles, they were (by and large). And guess who won?

Clinton ran attack ads. Obama is running attack ads.

Funny, I am in CO right now and there are tons of McCain ads that don't even mention Obama nor are in any way, shape or form negative.
