That's very funny that she made her sister a fish.

Please allow me to brag a little, as I can't help but to show off my daughter's insanely artistic talent. She finished up this artwork she'd been working on the last two days, and left it on the kitchen counter for me to see this morning. I got her a nice Wacom Cintiq (graphic tablet pro model since she's very advanced, especially for a 10 year old), so this was her "thank you" to me. The sweetest kid and a supremely talented artist!

Wow, that’s really cool.

Buy her some flux and solder to go with that iron too, LOL. I mean, you might as well kill two birds with one stone. She’s already got the steady hand. A good solderer is hard to find.

LOL

I'm sure she can do a portrait of one of your dogs. Here's one she drew of her cousin:

I totally want to make a "big deal, you all look alike" joke, but that might get me in trouble. (side note: A good friend of mine from my childhood, who is 1st generation American, would always say "you white people all look alike to me".)

Seriously tho, she should look into recreating old family photos on wood like the one she did of Mona Lisa, that could be an untapped market. Also might be a niche market, but hey, people appreciate good art. Well, smart people who aren't robots.

@Tyrant of Ants your daughter is a very talented artist. No budding about it. I can't believe she can do that at 10 years old amazing. She has a gift. She will be able to do what she wants in art easily.

Some of those art restorations that got destroyed would have been safer in her hands.

In doggy parlance, I'm sort of a mongrel so the "you all look alike" doesn't really apply to me. :bgrin:

That Mona Lisa that she did, she did from memory. She wanted to start drawing people for tip$ when we took her to the Hollywood Walk of Fame lol. Yeah, I should put her to work. She's going to be expensive to raise!

Instead of a lemonade stand she is gonna have a stand where she draws people.

Old geezer here,
In the Cub Scouts back during the Continental Congress we called that wood burning.

You an eagle scout Lanny?

Are you saying we all look like doggies?

Tenderfoot.
We moved to Portland when I was 11 and my mother showed no further interest in my scouting plus there was no troop in my area.

I made it through Explorer Scouts, Star Scout, Order of the Arrow.

Appreciate the suggestion, but we’d rather avoid any distraction and let this be all fun for her. I hope it was clear that I was only kidding when I said that I should put her to work. Hell, if she decides tomorrow that she doesn’t want to do art anymore and instead wants to train to be a cage fighter, I’d be fine with it, too. Wife wouldn’t be, but I’d be supportive. :bgrin:
Thank God in heaven above that you married your wife. However, it must be a challenge for her to keep you on the straight and correct path.
