Okay, you heard it here first.....without the benefit of the short right field porch Cano's numbers will only be between 15-20 HRs a season in Seattle. And lets see how long it takes before Mariner fans start booing his ass every time he jogs to first base.

Rick- my toughts,

The Seattle GM (Jack Zzzzzz) is the dooshbahg who screwed the Yanks at the last minute during the Cliff Lee "deal" to the Yanks a few years ago which (in my opinion) would've ultimately helped the Yanks go DEEP into October baseball.

He also knowingly (imo), sent the Yanks damaged goods in the Pineda trade.

Felix (pigface) Hernandez seems to take extra pleasure beating the Yankee along with drilling Yankee batters with his fastball.

I also think it's a strong possiblity Cano's power numbers may suffer playing at Safeco putting a drag on his overrall batting numbers.

And.........I hope the Mariners are a major bust this season and this Jack Z guy ends up with the proverbial rotten egg on his face. That's how I feel and I'm sticking with it. lol

GO YANKS !

20hrs..40 to 50 doubles bat 310 coming from your second baseman will still be very acceptable. My issue is that is not going to happen when he goes past age 35

Al, why do you continue to compare Ellsbury and Cano? It's 2 separate issues but you wan to tie the money as if that is the real issue. Do you feel that the Ellsbury deal cost us Cano?

YES! I most definately think it had a big deal with Cano not being resigned

...^^^ please explain why...I doubt you can, but please, feel free to try.

...you've already and finally admitted that 10 years would have been a mistake, yet the Yanx offered more per year than Seattle....sorry, but your theory does not hold water.

Do you think Ellsbury can reach these numbers, I highlighted my projections of his numbers in red and compared them to another Yankee

...^^^ Ha!...this should be fun...but don't be surprised if he doesn't get it?

Could be very true. But RF is the short part of SafeCo, also. It's where RH hitters go to die (see Beltre, Adrian). But the gaps are much bigger than at Yankee Stadium, so with hit line-drive power he might very well get a bunch more doubles and triples.

We may very well boo him jogging to first, but I doubt it, since he'll be one of the few in the last decade to be able to hit like an above-average professional.

All because Texas would throw in Josh "theRapist" Lueke and NYY wouldn't add another B-level prospect. If Lee would've helped that much (and I agree that he probably would have), what's another minor leaguer to you? Hate on Cashman, not JZ.

One could say just as much about the Yanks sending Montero knowing his BioGenesis and ARod links. But didn't Pineda pass a physical?

I don't know Felix's motivation, but doesn't most of the non-Yankee fan base take pleasure in beating the Yankees?

What's your definition of 'major bust"? We haven't competed in a decade! How much "bust"ier do you get from there?

...he may get a handful more doubles, but triples? I don't see it because he's only had 1 triple in the last 2 years plus he seldom busts it out of the box enough to make it to 3rd base.

Fair enough. I defer to people who've seen more than the 40 or so ABs I've seen of his over the last few years.

But otherwise, they are within a plus minus range I feel.

...lol...I was just busting the Mariners fan's chops about Cano's reputation of not always giving it his all when running to 1B. Quite a few of Robbie's doubles could/should have been triples...ask Rick.

...Brian seems like an OK guy, I was just poking him with a sharp stick.

there may be something to it. But the dysfunctional guys we're used to are guys like Eric Byrnes, who after being PH for got onto his bike in full uniform and rode home. And you're talking about a fan base that gave Milton Bradley a year-and-a-half of rope. :)

Jogging to first? We can probably work with that.

...I'd be careful saying anything to Cano about him running any faster to 1B...he may get the impression that you're not giving him any "respect".
