I think Roy scored 52 as a statement to Greg Oden. Maybe he'll call Batum's number next.:ghoti:

Damon had zero TO in the game where he scored 54.

But, only 1 assist.

And zero rebounds.

BNM

Yeah, found this list on ESPN - Guys who have scored fifty with zero TO's since 1986:

Reggie Miller
Allen Iverson
Damon Stoudemire
Michael Jordan
Rashard Lewis
Clifford Robinson
Alan Houston
Moses Malone
Kobe Bryant
Brandon Roy

The 6 assists is incredible as well when placed next to that 52 points.

Not to take anything away from Brandon's performance, because it came against a much better opponent, but Tony Parker had 10 assists when he scored 55 against Minnesota earlier this year.

It should also be noted that Parker's 55/10 was in a double OT game. Parker had "only" 42 points at the end of regulation. He added 4 points in the first OT and 9 more in the second to get his 55.

So, Brandon Roy's 52 points tonight is the most any player has scored in regulation so far this season.

No, we lost to the Hornets who won 18 games that year.

Cool. So we can possibly argue that Roy's game tonight may be one of the best individual performancesby a Blazer?

i was at the game. great game man broy put it on baby!!!

How about 50 with at least 6 assists and zero TOs?

We could even without discounting Stoudamire's game. But considering Roy had a better overall game and did it in a win, I think it's a contender for best regular season performance by a Blazer.

Brandon Roy all over ESPN.com's Daily Dime

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/dailydime?page=dime-081219

It's just 7 days 'til Christmas, 7 weeks into the season ...

So let's roll some 7s.

Best No. 7
Brandon Roy.

Excuse me . . . that's Brandon Roy!!!!!!!

Best No. 7 Pick

Brandon Roy.

Actually, Roy was the No. 6 pick in '06, but Minnesota immediately traded him to Portland for the No. 7 pick (Randy Foye), which the Blazers had acquired from Boston for Sebastian Telfair, who's now with Minnesota. You think Danny Ainge and Kevin McHale have lost some sleep over those fiascos?

Magnificent 7 so far this season ... and how they relate to LeBron James

1. LeBron ... 'nuf said
2. Chris Paul ... playing even more minutes than LeBron, if you can believe it
3. Dwyane Wade ... now feeling the weight LeBron's carried all these years
4. Dwight Howard ... he can tell his grandkids about all the MVP awards LeBron won
5. Tim Duncan ... remember '07?
6. Kobe Bryant ... still the best in the game for many, especially the KB24 cult
7. Brandon Roy ... what else could we say after Thursday's scintillating 52 pickup?

Brandon Roy scored 52 points on Thursday, giving him 182 over his last five games. That's the most points over any five-game span by any player in Trail Blazers history. The previous record was 175, by Geoff Petrie in February 1971, Portland's first NBA season.

Petrie had two 50-point games for Portland in the 1972-73 season, but in the 36 seasons since then only two other Trail Blazers players have scored 50 or more points: Clyde Drexler in 1989 and Damon Stoudamire in 2005. Of the 17 teams that have been in the NBA since 1973-74, only two others have had as few as three 50-point games by a player: the Kings (one) and Pistons (three).

not to piss on the fire or anything. but good lord our defense is hideous

4 Blazers, not bad.

I was in the TNT TV truck tonight and we were all going crazy! A lot of love for Brandon on a national level!

Oden played well with 5 fouls. Two crucial O rebounds.

Roy was just unbelievable!

Can someone find that video of Stephen A Smith asking what on earth is Portland doing in the draft?

Not to mention all those people who said if the Blazers had only taken Adam Morrision, what a great player and how popular he'd be in Portland.

Not sure who I love more right now, Roy or KP.

I agree with ehizzy3. Our defense is God awful.

Great, great win, but man we are a bad defensive team.

That was a crazy game last night....Roy should be getting some All Star love nationally now. This game should build some confidence for the team as beating the Suns was a huge monkey off the back of this team. I'd really like to see Boston come into town still on their winning streak so we'd have the chance to break it, that would be a huge boost to the team's ego. :D
