OT A March For Their Lies

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

I can't watch the whole thing. Just can't.
These are the people and younger adults that the ones on this forum think are super intelligent and put so highly above me because I don't vote or run out and join every protest. Like I said I just want these people to know what they are talking about. If you don't know what you are talking about, I can't get behind you. It's simple really

They are all your fellow Americans. They could also be an outlier. I doubt it but let's hope.

It is awesome seeing kids that give a fuck. I'll say it again that I don't have a gun and never did. I'm genuinely concerned about kids getting used no matter the reason.

Maybe nobody is pushing this, I don't know.

What you seem to be misunderstanding is that it deserves to be pushed.

I gave my son the option to join our not join the walk out. I told him use his heart, his mind, and his best judgement to decide if he wanted to join. I want him to be a critical thinker. He chose to join.

Now think clearly for a moment...

Aren't I as a father supposed to support my child in everything he does?

If my child wants to play drums... Dammit, I guess I need to build a soundproof shed in the backyard to give him a place to practice, so this lil MF can become the next Chad Smith right? I need to purchase a set of drums, lessons and give him my own personal time and positive energy in every way possible so he can succeed right?

Parents are supposed to support their kids. In everything they do.

That's exactly what I understood. That you feel it deserves to be pushed doesn't make it so

How horrible is it that he can make fun of us and we laugh? He was right about almost everything.

That's where you and I part ways.

While there are many things comedians are accurate about, there are things they miss the boat on. Why? Because they tend to follow the popular trend. Popular trend is usually on target but not always. I refer you to Refer Madness, the one time way that the general public viewed weed.

I never thought of George Carlin as a trend follower.

Make the shed very sound proof. I had a next door neighbor who learned to play the drums. Nice kid, but he drove me to the madness you see displayed in here. Arrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh

Make it fireproof if I can hear it

If all the kids felt anti abortion or anti gay rights needed pushed would you feel the same? I know they never would feel that way, but what if?

That's never how it's been. The youth always move toward progress. They don't regress.

You're giving a false choice. I don't need to answer your strawman.

That's the nature of comedy. The most successful comedy is that which pokes fun at everyday things.

I must admit that my favorite comedy included The Three Stooges. I guess it also included A Shot in the Dark and Cary Grant in several movies. I was never enthralled with George Carlin.

Or the trumpet. I was the kid who drove his neighbors and parents to madness. :biglaugh:

I don’t know if your son likes the drums... but if he does have him study Billy Cobham. Best drummer of all time imo.

I played the trumpet in the second grade. I was just beginning to learn My Friend the Witch Doctor when I lost interest. Our class at Forest Hills put on a concert for our parents. Our featured work was Mary had a Little Lamb.

It's like I'm talking to a certain old man on this forum who will repeat himself until you respond the way he wants you to.
Jesus.
This is a perfect example of why I prefer animals to people.

My point is parents support their kids. We shouldn't think that's a weird thing, nor should we sell these kids short when it comes to their infinite wisdom.

Honestly, try raising one of these kids. He asked me:

"Papa, how can I change the world?"

When he was 5.

What has he seen in 5 years that he thinks needs changed, and what makes him have the wherewithal or even the audacity to think he can change it??

My child is a forward thinker. He starts sentences with, "When I'm president".

I will never sell him short.

You don't have to if you don't want to. I would just prefer their protest be organic and not culivated by people behind the scenes. Or at least let me know who is pulling the strings.

I've always hated fronts with names like citizens for clean energy (or whatever) and then you find out it is paid for by Exxon. That is just an example I made up but I think you know what I mean

You're selling them short. You're not giving them enough credit. Stop underestimating them.

The barrier has been broken. Maybe, just maybe, it's possible. And I actually met him (swells with pride).

Just so those animals aren't sheep, 'cause Sly's got dibs on the sheep, well, at least the good looking ones.
