I thought the whole premise of this thread was to trade Aldridge because he's so much older than Lillard. If that's the premise, getting Asik as the major piece in an Aldridge trade doesn't make any sense. As has been pointed out, he's only a year younger than Aldridge.
But, even beyond that, I HATE the idea of trading the healthiest, most durable player we've drafted over the past decade. Aldridge's game may not be perfect, but he shows up and plays big minutes year after year after year. Given our past problems with injuries, I really hate to give up a guy like that when he's only 28 and in his prime.
Knowing our luck, we'd trade Aldridge for Asik, Aldridge would go on to to win multiple rings in Houston, play at an all-star level well into his mid-30s and Asik would immediately blow out both knees and become the white Greg Oden.
