An Aaron's store moved into my city recently.

They've been sending out flyers advertising for holiday items.

One look at it blew my mind.

At Aaron's you can get an Xbox 360 Arcade system (MSRP $199.99) for $29.99/month.

Here is where it gets criminal...

$200/$30 = 6.7 months. But obviously they aren't going to rent it to you for exactly the retail price.

So ok, maybe they charge for 9 months, which would make it $270 total. Big mark up but you have to figure when you rent something you'll pay more in the long run.

If they want to get really greedy they could even charge 12 months for the rent-to-own and suck $360 out of you for it. That is way too much but again, the risk you run renting something rather than buying it outright.

But Aaron's lets you own the Xbox after a 24-month lease period.

24!!!!!!

Final price: in excess of $790, as per the fine print on the flyer itself (including taxes).

Are you fucking kidding me?

Fuck Aaron's!

Those rental places are good for short term rentals, not rent to own. Like for a company to set up a crash pad for some short term employee.
