things have changed

Yes, well then Sherlock, is it progress? Seeing grown men offended over a rather dumb remark or should I say, weightless remark seems well shy of progress.

Of course there aren't Eric....but I define poor differently than was proposed here..I've lived and worked in Silverlake, Glendale and Echo Park...my roommate was in the biz as were his friends...sure they wanted a hit series but they worked regularly..from what I've been told New York theater is much tougher to survive in than Hollywood. I knew set carpenters, painters, etc....there aren't unlimited jobs in any field really.
I'm the one who said poor and I meant it like "poor baby" not that they were broke.

She also tweeted out - "By the way, George Soros is a nazi who turned in his fellow Jews 2 be murdered in German concentration camps & stole their wealth-were you aware of that? But, we all make mistakes, right Chelsea?""

This is stupid but not nearly as stupid as the complete foolishness being started by Starbucks. Racial Sensitivity training? Meaning we must now turn all business into public restrooms for the whole public, not just customers. How many places will now become unusable? This can never work. I never go to Starbucks anyway so it won't affect me, until it is also forced upon Tully's.

Wait, you like Tully's?

Well, you might disagree, but yes, I think going from "racism is just fine" to "racism is unacceptable" is indeed progress.

Well, you might disagree,

Oh I don't think I shall agree or disagree. I just think it is very virtuous of you to be so aware. It must be a burden to feel you must discern difference in a weightless remark that it is racism rather than silly.

I don't know when it was fine, but I do think it is continually redefined.
Perhaps to the point that it can not now be explained.

It's really not that difficult. Try it sometime, you might find it useful.

Interest set of words. I can use the same set. It's really not that useful. Try it sometime you might find it useful.

Oh, well, if you'll excuse me I need to go wash my car. Or my hair. Or something. <backs slowly out of room, talking softly and not making eye contact>

I don't watch Roseanne but I know she is a legend in the comedy world and back in the day that show was huge and as far as I know, the ratings the show was getting recently were very good. I believe they even gave an okay for a second season. Yes the comment was a bit much however I don't believe this makes Roseanne a racist. Just a dumb tweet trying to be funny. Shes on Joe rogans podcast friday.

I define poor as much more dire circumstances...most set workers and show staff are union...they'll work 5 minutes after a show ends on another show..union scale...not in the poor category at all
One of my daughters friends is a production assistant. She make like 30k a year in LA. She has nothing

I worked 3 jobs in LA ….most people in the business have a second job as well...poverty level in the US was 19k per year and under last time I checked..not saying it's easy to make a living but as I said...I have a different view of what poverty is

Poverty level in LA is not 19 thousand.

why is this turning into a debate? You're correct if you have over 3 children the number bumps up a bit...I lived there in 1983-4....for a year and a half....I moved to LA for work after a divorce...San Diego was much tougher to make a living in..LA was a way cheaper cost of living and work was everywhere...you had to be very lazy to not make a living in LA

It isn't a debate. Lol at using federal poverty statistics while talking about LA.

don't know about you but I've actually lived and worked there.....I'm talking from experience..LA had one of the lower costs of living in California then as well...I feel sorry for many poor people in the world but TV shows are cancelled all the time...in Roseanne's case I don't feel bad for another TV show that was pulled....subcontracters all deal with cancellations in the workplace...freelance work is risky...as a musician you run into it all the time but it doesn't determine your poverty level....you do

Don't know about you but today isn't 20 or 30 years ago. The average 1 bedroom apartment is around 2000 per month.

I felt bad for them not because it was cancelled but because they were renewed and the crazy woman tweeted them all out of a job. I know shows get cancelled all the time but not like this.

My oldest son has lived there off and on for 20 years....he rented a room for 3oo a month 2 years ago...depends on what you want to rent. My room was the same cost back in the day....we're not talkin' Venice Beach or Malibu....

All she had to do to keep her job was not compare black women to apes. That's a pretty fucking low bar and she could not meet it. Too bad for the other folks who will lose their jobs because she's a stupid bigot.

Kevin Spacey made Ridley Scott reshoot an entire movie with another lead role for stuff like this...Willie Nelson just walked off the stage before singing a note for stomach problems...cancellations are cancellations

This. I didn't know what the lady looked like. Googled her and got recent pictures. She's in her 60s give or take I THINK. Better looking than Roseanne has ever been.

Reminds me of that meme with Bannon and my man crush (Idris Elba)

ANYWAY, not sorry for Roseanne in the least. Sorry for all the hardworking normal people she screws over because of this.

I saw it and it was better without Kevin Spacey. Don't think they should have reshot it.

You maybe excused. Carry on!

There it is! What a world, hyper intense, group think carried to the max, with synchronize virtue signalling. The end result is, more people were harmed by the "Correct Response" than could ever
be helped with the inevitable affect. It appears to me, this PC support of this group awareness and mindless reaction to a mindless tweet, a clear clue our society is now officially in the bazaar stage.
