Abortion... pro-life or pro-choice?

Though I'm a republican I'm going with pro-choice. Better not having life than being miserable in a bad family. Adoption is a better choice though.

I just hate this issue. It's hard to be either way, womens rights are important as are the life of children but this is why it's so heated. I don't like abortion but it's a women's body and thats the issue for me. I wish late term abortions were banned, to berth a baby half way and then to kill is sadistic and outragious. I've grown up on this issue, I used to be hardcore pro-choice but I've come to understand the pro-life's opinions...It's just an impossible issue.

for me, I'm kind of a hypocrite on this........if it isn't my baby then I say it's up to women, but if it's my girl having my baby then she has no right lol

It should be choice but just if it's rape or something like that. And it should be done right when she finds out she's pregnant and not wait till the baby is almost ready to be born. Besides that I think there should be no abortion. For little 15 year olds to go around and having sex, well that's their fault.

Other than that, I dont care if the baby isnt 1 month developed yet, make her have it.

Okay, what is the definition of living, blah blah. We can argue for days/months/years. I just feel if you are ending a person's ability to live, you're killing them. Being raped I can understand, but otherwise keep your legs closed. And saying the child will have a bad life is ridiculous. To say there's been many unwanted pregnancies that have gone through to have a child that has lived a happy, healthy life is an understatement. Just because someone is an accident doesn't mean they can't be happy. That sounds bad, but it's true.

Like President Clinton or Hillary said, ?Abortion should be rare, safe and legal.? It?s simple; if you don?t want an abortion don?t get one. But please don?t make that choice for my daughters, or sisters. I feel there should be some restriction placed on abortions. During the first trimester abortion should be easily and readily available on demand. Women should be able to get a first trimester abortion at Walmart, without an appointment. No later term abortions, unless the mother is at risk. Outlawing abortion will not end abortion; it will only send women to dangerous back alley abortions. Women?s health is far too important to allow this to happen/As far as 15 year olds getting abortions, teen abortion can be drastically reduced by providing teens with sensible sex education, and access to birth control. Sex education should include, but not end with abstinence. We must teach young people how to protect themselves. Saying wait to have sex until you?re married isn?t realistic. I also think all the pro-life people should be forcibly sterilized. They should not be allowed to have children of their own. Instead they should be forced to adopt.

I'm against them, but I don't think they should be 100% banned. partial birth abortion should be banned, and I think it is now banned nationally. But I think something needs to be done with the number of abortions happening annually. I think sex education should be mandatory for all public and private educations. Condoms should also be avalible easier. preventing unwated pregnancies will limit abortions, possibly to a point were they could be banned and no one would really care.

HELL, ive heard about girls at my school poking holes in the condom so they CAN get pregnant.

So does that mean we should stop sex education or increase Education is our best change to lower abortion numbers.

Neither will work, there will always be pregnant women who dont want the children. So the sex education isnt going to help much. It might help with diseases and such, but most teens+ are bright enough to know how you can get somebody pregnant. The best way to lower abortion rates is stop giving them. Then people will think twice about having sex without protection.

I've had sex education up the ass...it doesn't do anything. Everyone knows you're supposed to wear a condom...lack of education isn't causing the pregnancies - it's the teenagers who are too horny to stop. I think the biggest way to stop this stuff is through the parents. If the parents make 100% sure that their kids are not alone with a guy/girl, and are extremely strict with this bf/gf thing, than this stuff wouldn't even be an issue.

Kids have to have easy access to birth control, though schools or parents or their local medical facility. And Yeah parents are a big part of the equation, but making sure they aren?t alone with anyone isn?t at all feasible. Parents must give their kids the skills to survive in the real world. That includes making sure they how to protect themselves during sex. It?s amazing we make our kids buckle up and wear f*cking bike helmets but we are too embarrassed to talk to them about sex?

Biggest issue which no one has mentioned yet: Are babies alive? Ya, as Justice said, you can debate forever, but still, those who say they are pro-choice haven't answered the questions.Remember, when a woman chooses to abort her baby, regardless of whether it's a bad situation or she's raped, she's still killing a living thing, with a heart and soul and who would, under noraml circumstances, grow up and live in the world.

I'm somewhat pro-choice, and here's why:Raised in a christian household, I was taught that abortion and is murder. Therefore, I naturally would not encourage it. But what right do I have to make a decision that affects someone else's life? I'm 17, well-off living in suburbs, so I really don't experience stuff like this. therefore, I don't feel I should make the decision for a poor teenager that CAN'T RAISE A KID. I know there are alternatives like adoption, but would it really be worth it to bear a child (supposedly one of the most painful experiences in a woman's life) just to give it away?

It's nice to see someone that isn't hardcore either way...for someone who's poor...it's such an impossible choice.

I'm not hardcore either way either, but I'm leaning a little more toward pro-life, simply because too many people are having younger sex, and if they want to do that earlier, then they can deal with the consequences earlier.

I guess I could say, pro-choice. But alot of the time it depends on the situation.

I am definately pro-life although I do agree that abortions should be legal for a few exceptions (rape, incest, health risks). I believe that by severly restricting the availability of abortion clinics (saving few for stated exceptions) it would force people to make mature decisions based on fear of consequences. A few statisticsAfter conception:21st day -- heartbeat begins40th day -- brain activity begins20th we. -- survival out of womb generally acceptedAge Demographics:0-12: 1.2%13-19: 20%20-24: 32%Reason for Abortion:1% -- Rape/Incest6% -- Potential health problems93% -- Social causes (unwanted or inconvenient)47% of all abortions performed are from women who have had previous abortions.47% of all abortions are related to another and 93% because the child would interfere with their lifestyle? That is way too many people taking advantage of the system because they are too lazy to obtain protection or not mature enough to keep their legs closed (yes men are equally at fault). The main problem with this is that abortion is easily accessible and now it is nothing but a mulligan for most people who want to avoid the consequences of their actions and with it so readily available people will not learn from their mistakes thus the high percentage of repeat offenders.

I know abortion is gross and killing a baby...and I know people shouldn't get pregnant if they can't afford it...but it happens...and it's a very hard choice for those people...I mean...my god...you know how freaking stressful of a choice that is? Not being able to work...getting sick...the money...etc...
