So before I click on this….was he really murdered because his car wasn’t working. Or did the situation escalate and he wasn’t doing what the police were asking him to do multiple times and then they handled it wrong?

Not sure his car was really stuck or not. He called 911 saying it was stuck and that he was depressed, and afraid of skinwalkers...he was suffering from paranoia. He needed help.

As soon as you hear that you should be sending officers with mental health training to help him. He was scared. He stayed in his truck. He had a couple knives with him, but I don't think he ever tried to stab himself or them as far as I know. They tried to get him out of the truck with food and then got angry he didn't want to get out of the truck. They quickly elevated things and shot him dead.

There was no reason to shoot him. They were not in danger.

Why not watch it and come to your own conclusion?

The cops were never in any danger. That's murder.

Polis condemns the killing, which has drawn international attention

Meanwhile, Gov. Jared Polis took an extraordinary step in condemning the killing. He issued a statement about the incident late Thursday after he met with Glass’ parents.

“The unspeakable loss and grief Sally and Simon Glass are living is the worst nightmare of every parent,” he said. “This tragedy should never have happened. Colorado mourns for the loss of Christian Glass’s life.”

The incident has drawn international attention to Colorado from as far away as New Zealand where Glass’ father is originally from.

The massive public interest was generated when the Glass family’s lawyers Qusair Mohamedbhai and Siddhartha Rathod released hours of various body-worn cameras from officers on the scene this week.

“Police cannot create their own exigent circumstances,” Rathod said. “Police may not illegally smash out the windows of a person’s car who has committed no crime as the Colorado State Patrol said that night and then create their own circumstances that they believe justifies killing a 22-year-old boy. This is basic law enforcement. This is not complicated. And every police officer is taught this.”

They had to shoot him to prevent him from committing the crime of suicide.

The department that trained and hired those police needs overhauled.

Complete overhaul and retraining.

That kid just wanted to talk. I would have sat there my whole damned shift talking, if that's what it took. He was scared and he wanted to talk. They talked to him less than 2 minutes before elevating and exacerbating the situation.

They were in no danger. Was he going to stab them through the glass? They could have talked with him. They could have asked him to hand over or throw out the knives and he would have.

Then not only did they shoot him. They riddled him with bullets.

The guy who shot him was just itching to do something. You could hear him amping up in his language use and tone, when he starts dropping F bombs it should be apparent he is too amped up. Instead of removing him from the situation they let him stand on the hood and point his gun at that kid? That posturing all but guarantees the kid being shot, the kid was already having a panic attack and/or whatever else is wrong with him.

I have three close relatives that are in the PPB, all staunch die hard democrats and big union guys. We shouldn't paint with a wide brush but yeah I agree the PPB needs retrained starting at the top.
The Mayor (head of police) and the DA need to step up and improve on their job as well.
The mayor needs to step up by getting rid of the asshole police.

The DA did step up by eliminating the need for police to make arrests for nonviolent, non-damaging crimes (lessening the workload, allowing them more time to do real police work).

Police in general seem to want the freedom to continue harassing nonviolent, non-damaging citizens without accountability, so they have revolted. Resulting in these reports of police telling people to vote better if they want police to do anything. At all.

Fuck everything about that bullshit.

I will say, there are good police. They need to do more to get rid of bad police. Otherwise they'll be lumped in with the assholes.

Gotta love Texas.

That was not the person who had eluded the police the previous day.

Cop claimed the kid hit him with the car and that's why he shot.

Kid hit multiple times. In serious condition at the hospital.

Cop fired.

Kid still charged with felony assault on a police officer.

I heard they weren't charging the kid.

From your article...

"Cantu was hospitalized in stable condition and initially charged with evading police and aggravated assault."

https://www.yahoo.com/news/ex-texas-cop-charged-over-003107379.html

The officer involved, James Brennand was charged for the shooting, after being fired. Two counts of aggravated assault. The victim Erik Cantu was initially charged with aggravated assault and evading, but the charges have been dropped. Cantu's condition is far worse than the police let on. He remains unconscious since the shooting on life support and it's not looking good.

That is so fucked up.

Because of this, it could now be a reasonable action as a driver to slam on the brakes directly in front of the police car the second you see the lights flashing.

I have seen that one. Cop flips a you-ee (how do you even spell that) and a guy who was driving behind him for some unknown reason decides it's a good idea to flash his lights at the cop as he was driving the opposite direction. Cop turns around again and speeds up behind the guy who flashed his lights. Guy starts to get over so he can stop and cop rams into the back of his car. They both pull over and the cop arrests him for "slamming on his breaks." There's a whole rage inducing video. Not sure why the guy decided to flash his lights at the cop (maybe he thought it was inappropriate how he turned around.)

Small town Iowa police chief charged with lying to ATF to get 90 machine guns for department with 3 officers

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/s...A15kHCP?cvid=9abb5f3807e84b6f9c67396df1e2b26a

I'm sorry....... the size of his unit is completely irrelevant.

What POSSIBLE reason would ANY police department have for possessing an M60 machine gun?

Prosecutors say Wendt sought to purchase or demonstrate approximately 90 machine guns between July 2018 and August 2022. Some of the weapons were used for public machine gun shoots, where Wendt and Williams charged customers money to be able to fire the weapons.

The indictment describes the firearms as fully automatic weapons not legally available to the public, including an M60 machine gun, a belt-fed weapon widely used by the U.S. military since the Vietnam war that was purportedly obtained for official use by the Adair Police Department.

For those that maybe need a refresher

Probably limited to low capacity magazines.

This way when you run out of ammo you can just throw the gun and pull out another...

You know that cop was just thinking he'd mount that sucker in the bed of his Dodge Ram in case the evil ANTIFAS show up!
