I think it's kinda funny to say one guy is overrated and then in the same post creatively buff the resume of Robinson like that. The only difference between the two is their height as Hassan showed he had the same exact skillset and and an improved jumper over half an offseasons worth of work. I have nothing against Bernard but the reality of the situation is that he got minutes on a team decimated by injuries where they were left little choice but to play him at the 2 and 4 out of a lack of options not because he excelled at any in shifting to those positions and even then Bernie had a hard time keeping on the floor due to overagressive fouls and just plain bad decisions. Sure the same negatives against Bernard can be said about Adams but Hassan was a rookie who was on equal footing with Robinson in every area who had 2 years experience on him. I can't deny Hassan stunk it up as a starter but is it his fault to keep being marched out there despite the lackluster results? Frank kept putting him out there when Hassan was clearly strongest alongside Marcus off the bench. I'm not playing a blame game, i'm just saying that if Bernard was the one given those chances we'd probbaly see a similar result because he's just as raw a player and makes similar mistakes when he's on the floor. Sure its speculation but I don't think i'm going too far out on a branch in saying that.

My point was just to rebut the presumption that the ONLY reason why Hassan was cut was that BRob's contract couldn't be moved. The two are fairly equivalent, plus BRob is taller, can actually play SG, and every now and then can hit a jump shot. BRob may still ned up being cut, but he's as good a bet as Hassan to succeed, if not better. The only reason why Hassan may have a future in the league is because he can be tenacious on defense--but so can BRob. Also, we know that Rod Thorn is a height whore, and we saw that the Nets struggled to find combinations on the floor which were good for Hassan--as I pointed out in another thread, the Hassan-Boki-Boone combo was terrible, minus 25 in 25 minutes.
