Gasol said the timeline on his injury was 6-12 months, and judging by the supposed protections in his contract, seems like it was far from certain he would be ready for training camp. And yeah, Collins going down fucked things up. They need an actual center.
 
We needed the roster spot to sign Jamal Crawford, lol.
 
Looking at all the guys that signed vet min contracts in the off-season....

They've all been pretty bad except one Dwight Howard.

It's quite possible, no one that signed this summer is eligible to be traded until December 15th so it would have to be something like the one I suggested.

Pau specifically said they had an opt out in case they needed his roster spot to sign someone who could actually play. I'd find it hard to believe they'd cut him without filling his spot.
 
Keeping him on as a big man coach would be awesome. Too bad he never got to suit up for us.
 
I hope they work out a coaching contract for him...we need a big man coach and he's seen everything there is to see in his career...guy has a lot to share

We can trade Whiteside or Baze for Love. None of them were signed this summer. Griffin too. Gallo too I think.

I'm well aware of what we can or can't do but for example Bazemore for Love or Griffin doesn't come close enough to working. We still have 25 days until we can use Hezonja and Tolliver as salary filler in a trade.
