Sly is old.
Yes, I remember when MTV showed music videos.

Sly is old.
AA has to go, he takes minutes from CJ. I think by the end of next season CJ will be the better player.
Does Vince Carter take minutes from Courtney Lee? Veteran Depth is important.
I just wasn't that impressed with AA. I think there will be cheaper options that we can get that will help the team just as much.
Sly would like him better if he spelled his name Erin Afflalo.
Cute and sad. Like Eeyore. It's cute when people conveniently forget why AA was brought in here to do as a bench player behind Wes, to satisfy a loop-holed argument. It's really, really cute. Like, super cute.
And sad. Very, very sad. Like, super sad.
That doesn't sound like a guy who should opt out. He needs to prove himself if he wants to get paid.
He would have been golden backing up Wes and Nic. Wes's injury forced AA into the starting lineup in an unfamiliar system long before he was able to learn who does what when. Plus, his shoulder injury made that transition even harder to make. With a healthy Wes, Afflalo is going to be a STUD off the bench for us...What value do you think we'd get from him if he didn't? You really think there's much of a market for what he brings? Sometimes you've got to admit you screwed up and move on.

So now the President of the United States isn't good enough for you?BUT WE NEED SCAPEGOATS!!! :MARIS61:
We wouldn't really get cap space bro, unless you are also condoning giving up our rights to Lopez, free land and Matthews. Even then, we would get roughly 18 mil. What we won't have is MLESadly, even when he was "competent" he was
(a) on a shitty team
(b) not actually helping that shitty team
He's the classic stat-padder. And now he's not even that.
How about neither? Unless it's on the Lakers, in which case I hope they snap him up.
First "competent", now "decent". You sure know how to damn with faint praise.
Sometimes you just walk away and accept the cap space. If you keep him to flip him, you run the risk of him becoming Gerald Wallace, which he certainly looked on the way to being. Besides which, he either has to have minutes, in which case he's taking away from our younger players who are actually better than him by just about every measure, or he's on the bench feeling sorry for himself, which is just awkward. I HOPE that Olshey doesn't feel like the fact that he gave up a pick for him (and has a history with him) means he has to keep the guy.
I'm really tired of the "he was injured" bullshit. He wasn't injured when we got him (or if he was, where's the receipt? I want our money back) and he was shit then. He was shit for Denver the whole year. He's never been a good passer or a good rebounder, and I'd like to see evidence he's actually a good defender. He's so much worse than Wes it's not funny. I think people feel like they have to stick up for him because of the euphoria of the trade. Well, I've been there with Oden, I don't feel the need to do that again.

Santeesioux gets first dibs.Where the hell do we have free land at? WANT!
Stupid auto correctWhere the hell do we have free land at? WANT!
Kamans Team Option and have $22M (would also prefer getting rid of Blake's $2.2M somehow). That's enough to sign Wes, an upgrade at center (Tyson Chandler) a wing or PG with the remaining $3-6M, and then use the $2.8M room exception on a cheap big (bring Kaman or Freeland back.. Or sign Kofous)We wouldn't really get cap space bro, unless you are also condoning giving up our rights to Lopez, free land and Matthews. Even then, we would get roughly 18 mil. I know my phone never wants me to enter Freeland.Stupid auto correct
So in your scenario, we lose Lopez, Kaman, Blake and Afflalo for Chandler?Decline

So yeah getting rid of Afflalo and 1 or 2 others gives us cap space to seriously upgrade this team
You act like losing Blake is a bad thing. And that losing Afflalo is bad when there's no minutes available for him. Kaman has $1M guaranteed so it'd technically be $3.8M, i think he'd return for that. You upgrade Rolo with Chandler and have money to round out your bench by going and getting a CJ Watson type.So in your scenario, we lose Lopez, Kaman, Blake and Afflalo for Chandler?
kaman would not come back for less sorry. Kufos for 2.8 mil? Not gonna happen.
Here's another scenario.
Sign everyone already on the team, then use the MLE (5.5 mil) to sign a vet, then try and trade Batum, Crabbe and pick for Hibbert.
Actually I did bother reading your entire post. Stop acting sensitive with those that disagree with you.You act like losing Blake is a bad thing. You think by clearing $24M we'd only sign Chandler and resign Wes? Cmon now..
This wasnt supposed to be a scenario, it was just supposed to show how getting rid of Afflalo could help us improve our team with the cap space cleared but you didn't even bother to read it right
You forgot the part where we'd have around $6M in cap space after signing Chandler and Wes... We could use that for a wing/PG or keep KamanActually I did bother reading your entire post. Stop acting sensitive with those that disagree with you.
I doubt Kaman will ever come back to Portland if we let him go. We can agree to disagree with that.
As for Chandler being the only player, I was replying to your suggestion. Sorry if you not being clear enough got in the way.
Even in your scenario, we lose Blake, Kaman, Lopez and Afflalo. So we got Chandler, Kufos is out of the question at 2.8 mil. Build your team bro...
