It probably was one bad night, but honestly I would not mind seeing Harkless pass him up for starting SF. When Harkless got minutes he was a better all around player than Aminu.
I think he will push him for that starting spot I like what seen on video.

Nigeria did a bit better against Mozambique:

This one's actually a nail-biter. Looked like Nigeria had it, Dieng brought Senegal back. They had a shot to win it, but now it's overtime.

10pts 10 boards and 3 steals for Aminu going into overtime..not bad. I like that 9 of his rebounds were defensive boards

Nigeria wins it in overtime. Best Nigerian players: Shane Lawal and Chamberlain Oguchi. Our Aminu was again fairly anonymous.

I feel bad for Senegal - massive underdogs but gave Nigeria everything they could handle until OT. Although he was quieter this game (Lawal might have had something to do with that), Dieng is no doubt the player of the tournament.

Tunisia (who kicked Nigeria's ass) vs. Angola (the perennial African champions, probably most famous for the Barkley quote) for the other spot in the final.

Nigeria up 37-24 at the half! Aminu quiet again, but maybe his defense is helping, because that's a pretty pathetic scoreline for Angola. And he does have 3 steals (to go with his 3 TOs).

Aminu has the highest per of any player in the game with a +14//bunch of steals and a block

He was 2-10 tonight but he only average little over 5 Reb a game. He did have double double tonight.

I'm watching this game and Aminu is looking like a complete scrub. He's got practically the worst line on Nigeria. Not exactly what you'd hope for, and a big contrast with Gorgui Dieng, for example. Maybe we signed the wrong Aminu?

Edit: he finished with 8 turnovers and shot 1/7 two pointers. He was -20 (Nigeria lost by 11). He's supposed to be one of the stars of the tournament. He's not even one of the stars of the Aminus. Let's hope this lights a fire under him - but let's just say we shouldn't expect big scoring out of him next season, and the idea that he can take over Batum's "point forward" role is pretty laughable.
Ya well, thank god we only signed him to play tough D and hit open shots, huh?

One out of two ain't bad.
Positive, he did enough to win and not enough to get injured...some of his teammates have played together regularly for a long time so he's not playing in the tournament with a lot of chemistry as is the case with many African rosters.
