see i get blasted when i try to be somewhat positive and i get blasted for being negative!

listen, I said all last year something was wrong with Rudy. We knew he wanted out before the all star break. it was just like the kpee saga... everyone already knew he was getting fired just like everyone knew rudy hated nate/portland/nba. what can i say about him? rudy wanted a trade that never happened? he didnt show up in the playoffs which told you all you needed to know.

and idk man.... i read lots of sunshine/rainbow posts here all summer. guys were talking about oden playing 70 + games. i still think if nic gets hurt we are literally fucked. we have no backup SF on this roster. matthews is toooo small to hold that down every night. i dont think this team as is gets home court. in fact i just hope for playoffs.

and listen im gonna have a new post soon of something that drove me nuts all summer. Simply put... this team DID NOT IMPROVE and its shameful on how many trades they missed out on. Not getting Collison was a disgrace.

No blast--I just don't want you to get complacent after getting 90+ replies on you first thread (well, 70+ if you subtract your own replies to theirs...). Gotta make sure the usual level of MIXUM-ness returns after your extended furlough.

About that--who actually punctuates acronyms? And honestly, isn't that somewhat paradoxical? "I'm going to complain about the length of a post via an acronym including an unnecessary semi-colon, because not only am I too busy to read someone else's opinion, but I'm also grammatically superior." And if you're going to include the semi-colon, why not the period at the end? And why not make it a full sentence rather than a fragment, something like "Ypwtl;Idri." ("Your post was too long; I didn't read it.")? I mean really--is a little consistency too much to ask?

I agree with you that Oden has bust written all over him. I don't really care if he plays 80 games anymore. I would be super happy with Oden playing 50-60 regular season games and be healthy for the playoffs. I even think that is probably just a dream. I just don't think it does any good to be worrying about KD that's over and even the biggest Oden fans(Myself included) now knows if we could do it all over again we should have taken KD. I still wouldn't trade Oden unless it got us something really good like CP3 and he had to be included to get the trade. All we can do is hope he plays.
 
Denny... Starlin Castro looks like a future stud. I will include that in all my posts.

As I recall that was a Senior League game during the summer made up of players from Central Catholic vs Wilson. I grew up in NE Portland (In the Grant area) playing against guys like Darryl Motley.

I am. Great memories of all the pick up games. (Daily)

Graduated from Highschool in 77'. A pretty good year for High School Hoops in Oregon. (Radford, Blume, Ainge, Stoutt) As I recall 4 undefeated teams going into the playoffs that year in Memorial Colisium. What a tounament that was.

Not a bad year for the NBA in Portland either.

I disagree that Wes can't be a backup (or even starting) 3. He's a bit like Batum in that he's going to play D on the best 1, 2, or 3 of the other team, and going to be a wing shooter on offense. He's already proven (in the playoffs!) that he can pull both of those off.

Between Roy, Batum and Wesley I'm not worried about the 3. Even Babbitt could play backup there if needed, though he'd get torched on D. Or we could run small if we needed to.

My dad told me Motley was the best athlete he ever saw, said he could have gone pro in football too. Motley still played Independent League ball well into his 40's in Montana I think.

The first time I encountered Motley was in a grade school basketball game. I want to say he was playing for Alameda. He was around 11 or 12. Looked like a bowling ball. Short and solid. It took me about 20 seconds to figure out I was going to get embarrassed all night. He was a freaking "blur" even at that age.

This one time, at band camp, back before most of you were born, there was this camp counselor, she was hot...and we were hiking up in the hills, and it started to rain, and the rain was cold, and her shirt was white, and it was like we had x-ray vision....just like Superman! It was awesome!
 
Will someone please tell me what happened to Da Rizzle? Is the Rizz going under a different name these days? What the hell??? PM me if it's a secret. Hehe.....
