Aldridge and ZBO would sure look good right about now

I'll always wonder how crushed Portland fans would have been when Jordan left the Blazers in the late '80s for the Lakers.

You should allocate some time to thinking about how screwed we would be if we hadn't drafted LaRue Martin. A lot of chips would have fallen differently.

It was a joke. They couldn't have drafted Durant and Oden, either.

Bullcrap. A great GM could have drafted both of them. KPEE FAIL on the Durant/Oden thing. I saw trade ideas at BBF that could have netted both players, had ZBO been used wisely as a trade chip.

"I have some trade ideas to get Ken Griffey Jr. and Barry Bonds and we wouldn't have to give up that much."

Even a competent GM would have pulled it off. Durant and Oden was right in our hands, and we dropped the ball.

ZBo was a ballhog, a lazy defender, and a classic jailblazer off the court. He's in a contract year right now, and his numbers show it. He has been a nearly adequate defender this year. I think we could have gotten a bit more for him if we had been more patient, but I have no problem with having shipped him out.

Yeah, Cause Jordan seemed like the LeBron type. Seriously get a clue.

He already got his contract!!!! and he's killing it!

Not true, but let's say it is. What made him change? Must have been something that could have been done here, like better coaching.

It's a mathematical equation. The more X is, the less Y has to be.

The worse you say he was, the more he has improved to what he is now. So you just make Pritchard and McMillan look even worse, for not having done the improvement here, instead of just dumping the future all-star for 2 years of Frye.

So keep badmouthing Zach (whom I like), because it cements my case against McMillan and Pritchard.

Zach failed in a Game 7 with Serge Ibaka and Nick Collison defending him.

And ... next.

Not great defenders, though. Zach couldn't carry his team in Game 7; Durant could.

Isn't Ibaka known for his great shot blocking? I know that's not the end all in defense, but from what I've seen, the dude was pretty good with position defense too.

He only played 13 minutes in Game 7.

What does that have to do with ZBO? ummmmmm NOTHING!!!!!! Did not have to trade him
I'm about 99.9% sure KP did in fact "have to" trade Zbo, there was a mandate to get his ass out of town before he killed somebody and before every single sponsor and season ticket holder bailed on the franchise. It's sad, I for one thought Zbo had value, but I had to face the reality that he was going to get dumped, and he did.

Ancient history.

Moralists always pretend they're in the vast majority, in order to silence those who want freedom.

The Big Lie, the myth of conservative majority, was disproven when ticket sales dropped greatly not when the immoral players were here, but instead only when they were banished and we became a terrible team.

Yep. The story goes that the Blazers drafted LaRue on the basis of his one good game against Bill Walton. But in reality, drafting LaRue ensured our sucktitude and enabled us to draft Walton two years later, and win an NBA title. Taking LaRue Martin was one of the greatest, most astute draft picks in NBA history, and showed amazing foresight. :)

Speaking of early dominoes, we got Sidney Wicks with pick #2 because we paid off the Cavs to pick Austin Carr with #1. It's in the Blazer movie from the late 70s. Nowadays that would be penalized similarly to when Stern took 5 first rounders from McHale.
