Can Zeller play the 4? Aldridge is too old and slow for the 4 now. We could definitely use his size though.

He was decent in the games i saw him play with Brokeland.

I don't think this is a good fit. Even setting aside health concerns, why would he be interested in coming back to a mid-tier Blazers team?

And why would we want to clog our bench with an old mid-range jump shooting big man? I don't think he does anything especially well at this point and I don't see him suddenly getting better than he was for San Antonio last year.

agree...we need more young athletes to compliment the older guys we have.

He's just no longer a 4. Hasn't been for a few years now.
And RoCo got backed down by the best PF in the game , cause he's too small. He gave it all he had, but doesn't have the size to defend the best of that position. He's a SF.

There is literally zero chance he's not going to the Nets or the Fakers.

i can definitely see aldridge coming back to the blazers

dame would agree 100%
Would he? Or would it be the straw that breaks the camels back?

“After all the Players we’ve lost and where we are now, and he brings back this guy”

Who had a better career: Lamarcus Aldridge or Blake Griffin?

Who deserves to be in the HOF?

Aldridge is a 7 time all star and 5 time all nba player.

Someday, he will make it. There are worse players in the hall.
Basketball reference has his HOF probability at 50.9%. There are definitely some players below him in that metric who were basically considered no-doubters (Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin, Manu, Chris Webber, Bernard King).

Webber's an Interesting comparison, as he beats LA in all the per-game numbers, but LA has him beat in career totals due to playing 245 more games (compiler!). So i guess it depends on what you put more stock in.

I doubt Aldridge will ever make it.

He didn't have the college career of someone like Webber, nor as dominant in his NBA prime. Jacking up a bunch of long 2 point jumpers just doesn't leave much of a lasting impression.

He didn't have postseason or franchise defining success others had. If the Spurs had won a title with him as a sidekick to a star then maybe. Or if he had lead the Blazers in a bunch of career achievements and played his whole career here.

The people that made it with worse stats had something more compelling.

Not all of them. Vlade Divac. AL Cervi, Richie Guerin to name a few.

Ralph Sampson had a better college career but Aldridge had a substantially better NBA career.

Blake was a graeat athlete, spectacular dunker and a defensive weak spot. While he had better stats then LMA, its really hard to win in the playoffs with a Big who sucks at D. Will either make the HOF? Maybe, maybe not, but I'd much rather have LMA at the 4 on the team I'm rooting for.
