I would do this trade in a quick second. Horford is an absolute beast and the defensive anchor on that Hawks team. He's shooting close to 65% from the field and is a beast in the paint and has range out to about 16 feet. His contract is also a lot more reasonable than LMA's even though Horford has actually been an AS.

Not sure why Atlanta would want to do it. But, it would be awesome if we could make something work. Aldridge's act has grown old to me. I'm just not impressed like some of you are.

Speaking of things that will never happen, how about LMA and oden for dwight howard?

The trade above actually gives the Hawks 2 more expiring contracts to combine with Jamal Crawford's. Since they just signed Joe Johnson to a max deal maybe they want/need some cap room? I don't know, I just like doing the trade machine for fun.

So Horford is younger, produces better and is on a smaller contract. And you're not sure why Atlanta would do it. Me neither.

you do realize dude is still on his rookie deal right? He's from the same rookie class as Greg. The last time you made this same empty point this was pointed out to you by multiple posters... are you choosing to overlook this fact or did you just forget? Rest assured with the way the market for decent Bigs has gone since LA signed, when Al signs his next deal shortly it will exceed LA's.

Aldridge's act has grown old to me.
while you're at it, why don't you tell us all which is your favorite college hoops team? We're all on the edge of our seats dying to know

Instead of trying to be condescending, why not look up any information from the last two weeks. Horford signed a 5 year, 60 million dollar extension. Rest assured. You're wrong. Next time, if you don't know something, don't make a huge attempt to make someone else feel stupid, because you just make yourself look bad.

But that makes him a base year compensation player which makes him even less likely to be traded.

It's a good pie in the sky trade idea but reality pretty much makes it completely impossible.

Roy for Gilbert Arenas. It's so sad that the Wiz would hang up the phone on that offer right now.

I don't see why Atlanta would make any trades right now, unless they see a hole in their lineup. They're a legit playoff team. They've got their core together and I think they've got a pretty good shot at making some noise in the playoffs.

I'm not talking about likeliness of a trade at all. Just saying he has a new contract, and to mock another poster for commenting on contract status without knowing what they're talking about is stupid.

Don't worry. If we traded for Horford, I'm sure his act would grow old to you in short order.

Aldridge is the perfect compliment to Oden. And our championship hopes only go as far as GO.

If Roy is finished as an elite player, now moreso than ever.

my god... we are now making fantasy trades in this forum.

I've been thinking about what may happen to Roy. The nearest comparison I can make is he'll go from being a Wade to being a Rip Hamilton. That's still not bad.

I have always looked at our team like the Pistons earlier this decade. They weren't dominant at any one position with a superstar; they were five fingers that formed a fist. I think we need to alter the load to the frontcourt. Batum, Aldridge and Oden is potentially the best frontline in basketball in a couple of years. If Roy can shoot jumpers to keep the defense from sagging and we get ourselves a Greg Anthony/Derek Fisher-like PG (great outside shot, excellent D and a decent distributor), we'll be more than fine.

I hope you are right about Roy and I think that is a"best case" scenario, his accumulated damage with the bone on bone seems to be starting to rear it's ugly head.

I think Steve Smith or Vince Carter would be a better comparison. Rip was pretty quick off those screens. Can Roy be that quick? Or, better yet, will he actually run off screens?

I see your "better yet will he run off screens" and I'll raise you an "Will we ever run an offense where players set screens for someone who is off the ball?"

I've seen them do it for Rudy!

I've seen them do it for Rudy!

true... but then when Brandon went down they said

Nate- "Hey we have a capable 2 Guard to fill his shoes... lets just have Rudy Iso it up top.. that should work the sime right???.... right Monty???"

Monty Williams - *thinks to himself* "Anyone, just anyone PLEASE hire me so I dont get associated with this dude anymore.

Dean DeMopolus- "I just cant wait to coach the Clippers... that is all.

in all seriousness though, I still dont understand why we started doing that screen stuff for rudy less. Even if he isnt an option, I want the D to have to pay attention to him.
