McMillan trains his players to never be flashy or a beast (which hurts us). Aldridge seems to accumulate a lot of his stats in the first 3 quarters, or in easier games with less pressure, or in the more relaxed earlier moments of harder games. He is undependable in clutch moments when the game is on the line. Roy was the opposite of this, and was truly a league star in more than stats.
I actually see Aldridge making the allstars every year for at least the next 5 years. Does that qualify him to be a superstar?
the only thing that makes superstars is endorsements and tv time, so no
. So Clyde the glide wasn't a superstar in Portland?Dude you've been gone for a while. Good to see you back.. So Clyde the glide wasn't a superstar in Portland?
Clyde was insanely popular not just in Portland but around the league especially when the media tried to make the "Air Jordan vs Clyde the Glyde" Rivalry.
But didn't have national sponsors; which was what brainiac suggested for superstardom. I actually disagree. Superstars are the players much better than players in the league
paul milsap has been putting up giant numbers for a few years now too...superduperstar?

Aldridge is not a superstar. A high PER does not make you a superstar.
I don't necessarily think Dwight Howard is a superstar for example.
Millsap's raw stats haven't been been very spectacular. Even his advanced stats were THAT great until this year.
Clyde made it on the front of the Wheaties box. That's probably not a big deal now, but it was a big deal then. But didn't have national sponsors; which was what brainiac suggested for superstardom. I actually disagree. Superstars are the players much better than players in the league

I really don't get why people aren't impressed with Aldridge this season. That per is insane! And he's increasing it as the season goes on. The first 10 games, he was getting his legs back. He looks like a "LaMonster" out there.
He gets his stats when the game is cruising, not in clutch moments when it's in doubt.

When Roy was the man; Aldridge was just as clutch.
Really? Aldridge disappeared in the 4th quarter when we had a clutch guard, Roy.
