LaMarcus @aldridge_12 named Western Conference player of the week yet again. @mtokito called it.

led the Trail Blazers to a 4-0 week behind averages of 25.5 points (eighth in the league), a league-best 14.8 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.5 blocks.

Looks like it's Kyrie in the East. POW smackdown coming up!!

That makes 3 of the last 4 Western Conference Player of the Week awards for Aldridge. M-V-P, M-V-P...

LaMarcus Aldridge has already won Player of the Week 3 times. It's not even Christmas. Yes, he's a serious MVP candidate.

He beat out Durant and Love who had some pretty gaudy stats as well. Good shit.

He's had hot streaks in the past where he put up some guady numbers, but something feels a little more tangible and "real" in this current run. Body language and confidence I guess?

This is definitely the best I've ever seen him play. The most confidence. His play on the block has been superb.

Yeah I know what you mean. It looks like he can keep it up without having to be in some sort of zone. It looks easy for him right now. Especially his shots around the hoop where he is simply flipping them in. Before those easy shots.....did not look as natural as they are now.

Can't wait for him to win "player of the month" for December, January and March. :D Then MVP will become as real as the pimple on my ass cheek

TMI man, TMI!

If you're going to force me to visualize a mental image of a pimple on an ass cheek, at least make it your wife's and not yours!

With Portland and Cleveland facing off tomorrow, it's the first time since Valentine's Day last year that the reigning players of the week are playing against one another.

Heh. And we just had the coaches of the month face off when Indiana was in town, right after the awards were given.

Nothing like this. His rebounding has been incredible lately 14.8 rpg last week and 12.8 rpg the week before - combined with 25.5 ppg and 26.3 ppg comes out to 25.9 ppg and 13.8 rpg over the last two weeks on .542 FG%.

Until last year, he'd never averaged 9 rpg for a season and most posters on this board thought he'd never average 10 rpg. Well, he's at 10.9 rpg and climbing.

How is his rebounding efficiency? Seems he really gets them efficient

The difference is we've never seen LMA so clutch. The last couple seasons, he's been 80+% FT, but over and over when he was at the line late in close games . . . CLANK! Not this year. There were other games when he seemed to disappear late after a strong start. No longer an issue. It's like the last hurdle he had to climb on his way to superstardom, being a "clutch" go to guy. Now he calls for the ball and isn't afraid to take big shots or step to the foul line when the game is on the line. The transformation of his play down the stretch of games can't be overlooked. Hence, 3 time POW in 4 weeks.

That's why I mentioned confidence. I sort of get the impression that he expects to play this way, instead of just flirting with greatness like he would in the past.
