This looks seriously awesome (speaking as someone who has always preferred Alien to Aliens).
But then, the trailer for Prometheus looked awesome too, and I've not heard good things about that.

It was okay. It had a lot of holes and there was some very confusing parts of it.

I'm a fan too. Enjoyed the originals and Two AVP movies. I'm a fan of the Predator series as well. I'm looking forward to this movie. Looks like some good action mixed with comedic relief in Danny McBride

The thing about Prometheus is its the prequel to the prequel and we don't gain a whole lot of knowledge from it other than there

are engineers who hate humans and are breeding an alien spieces to wipe them out. That the planet is a breeding ground, and the whole trip was for some really old guy to try and gain immortality. Then it ends with a non sigorney weaver character surviving and instead of going home she's going to go to the alien home world because what could go wrong and maybe they will talk it all out, and everyone will be friends. Right.

Alien Covenant is the story Ridley Scott wanted to get to, but felt for some odd reason he needed to make Prometheus first when he could have made Alien Covenent to begin with, saved us some time and brain matter. Prometheus was made purely to relate the engineer angle. Alien Covenant is the business end, getting back to Alien level grade. It will be far better than Prometheus and be worth watching.

Yeah it's good. But, its unsubstantial plot line stopped it from being on par with the original. The movie should have began with them arriving at the planet and sparing us all the days our life bullshit on the spaceship. That would have allowed for more aliens, actual aliens, and more story about the engineers which was very vague.

At least they did not choose British actors and reverb effects. The third movie was hard to understand. This would be a good choice for Netflix or Redbox after it spends three weeks on the movie theater circuit and is dumped.

Personally, I wanted a movie focusing more on the Space Jockey and Ridley did that by giving us the Engineers story. At least he attempted something different from the formulaic Alien series storyline.

Overall, I was a little disappointed with the movie Prometheus. However, there are some gems we can take away from the movie and apply them later in the series or even a remake years down the road.

Evolution of the Alien from a Trilobite to a Deacon

Cylinders of Black Goo (aka Chemical A0-3959X.91 – 15) - Once exposed to another organism, the virus begins mutating its host giving us: hammerpede, mutated geologist Fifield, and trilobite (and the eventual Deacon).

The Hammerpede is the result of indigenous worms of LV-223 being exposed to Chemical A0-3959X.91 – 15. Whether they can be formed from other species of worm on other planets is unknown.

Mutated by the Black Liquid, Fifield slaughters several crew members. His transformation allowed him to survive being run over and shot in the head.

The Trilobite was the result of Charlie Holloway being infected with Chemical A0-3959X.91 – 15 and engaging in sexual intercourse with Elizabeth Shaw.

The Deacon was an accidental result of the Engineers' Chemical A0-3959X.91 – 15 that was originally used as a bioweapon as well as presumably creating life. The Liquid infected Charlie Holloway, who impregnated Elizabeth Shaw with a Trilobite. This Trilobite eventually matured and impregnated an Engineer on LV-223, whereupon the Deacon developed and burst from the Engineer's chest.

Wait, so the engineers didn't create themselves, or the xenomorphs, or the humans, yet, the humans created them all, but they didnt, and thus humans equal devolved xenomorphs multiplied by the engineers....wait wait so a xenomorph and a human did it, and spawned an engineer who created humans and xenomorphs...
