the warriors did not have the best record in the league, millsap is not his team's leader and by far best player, the jazz are not the youngest team in the league exceeding expectations by many games and have not won 13 in a row, and unlike roy last year millsap is getting zero serious pre-vote media buzz. there is no parallel between roy/davis and millsap/gasol.
1.) You don't need the be the team's leader.

2.) He's playing like the best player on his team.

3.) He's keeping the Jazz afloat even with the injuries to Boozer/Deron/Okur/Kirilenko etc.

And...
Paul Millsap, Utah (25-18)
15.5 PPG, 9.5 RPG, 1.2 BPG

With Utah's perennial All-Stars Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams combining to miss 44 games because of injury, the Jazz have thanked their lucky stars that they selected Millsap with the No. 47 pick in 2006. In his third season the bruising 6-foot-8, 250-pound forward has improved dramatically, nearly doubling his averages of 8.1 points and 5.6 rebounds from a year ago. From Nov. 24 to Jan. 7, Millsap had a streak of 19 consecutive double-doubles. Besides, no All-Star roster is ever complete without at least one first-timer. Millsap aptly fits that role.

maybe you should. i didn't say anything about the odds of millsap bumping shaq or a 5th guard or anybody else. you initially specified millsap instead of gasol and that's all i've ever said anything about.

There are only a limited number of forward spots. I highly doubt he knocks off a guard considering the West is loaded with great power forwards.

BROY...1 week avatar bet...Pau makes it then I win, Milsap makes it you win...they both do or both dont then its a push..you down?

I've even said that Gasol is more likely to make it over Millsap, I'm not stupid. :ghoti:

I'm just a little "aggravated" because Crow thinks Millsap has no chance of beating out Gasol.

you do if you want to bump someone in gasol's position.

irrelevant. gasol is is perceived as having a huge impact on the success of the best team in the league. he's virtually an automatic choice.

whatever. if you'd have said millsap would get in instead of shaq or carmelo i wouldn't have bothered to respond. but you didn't.

who does besides you?

Jazz fans.

you do if you want to bump someone in gasol's position.

Whatever. All I did was answer your points. You said Gasol was putting up much better stats, and I answered. You said he was playing on a team with a great record, I answered.

Most of your arguments apply to Millsap as well.

you didn't answer why coaches will vote specifically for millsap instead of gasol, which was your original premise and is the only thing i'm disputing.

won't say it :smiley-smile:

I can acknowledge that Gasol is more likely to make it, even if I feel Millsap will make it.

Still not willing to bet with DaRizzle though. :)

Ok now who the fuck did Bruce Bowen end up getting more votes than Ron Artest? And how did Chris Paul randomly burn Tmac off by like 400,000 votes? i thought Tmac was leading the whole time?
