I didn't see a Scoot thread yet. I even clicked the "show ignored posters" to see if I was missing something.

I have some doubts about his shooting and that concerns me, but he's intriguing.

This dude talking is full of it. 1st off, yes Scoot is athletic. But can anyone name the game changing talent he's beating for dunks in those highlights. And when this dude mentions all the centers in these video's , he's forgetting that Wemby is not going to be a center. Also saying Ja's is a better player than Zion is just silly. Health is the only thing that has kept Zion from reaching incredible heights on the floor. Ja's team has played well without him . Granted it's an "If", but a healthy Zion makes them a serious contender. Then he leaves Paolo Banchero off the list for Jaden Ivey who was good, not great. And puts Chet Holmgren , who was out all season, in there. Do some homework dude.

The thing I like about Scooter is he pushes the ball and is a killer in transition. Like KD when he was young, he has the "Eye of the Tiger".

All we can do is hope Scoot impresses so much that they end up valuing the pick more.
Absolutely. If he ends up being great, awesome, but we have great, and need some better support around him. Should get a haul for Scoot. I just don't see Chartlotte giving up on LaMelo. He was really coming into his own. Can you imagine if Golden State had gave up on Curry when he was really struggling with his ankle issues.

The keys for me are:

How good is his defense?

How good is his passing?

Can he improve his shooting? He shot 27.5% from three this season in the G League. That is..... bad.

Seem like a wonderful young man. The Nets would be foolish not to want to acquire him, and build around him. Bridges / Claxton seems fair. For Ant & the rights to draft Scoot.

I think it's all gonna depend on what Charlotte does. I wouldn't be shocked if they trade the pick.

Do it! Scoot would be a marketing craze in Brooklyn!

Brooklyn would need a center so Nurk instead of Ant to get deal done.

btw: Derrick Rose, Ja Morrant and Westbrook also can’t shoot… just sayin

The league has massively changed since Rose was an MVP. It has shifted drastically towards three point shooting.

Westbrook has been terrible for his teams since the league shifted.

Smaller Russel Westbrook vibes. That can be great, it can also be a real issue when that athletic ability fades...

Russ' athleticism actually has lasted him a long time.

Rose or Wall is the scary comparison that you might be thinking of.

I have not seen Scoot enough to tell, but to me at least, both Rose and Wall, when healthy, had more skill than Westbrook. At least from the very limited amount that I have seen Scoot, it was more Westbrook than Rose / Wall, but I am really not pretending to be conversant with everything he can do.

here is something:

https://deanondraft.substack.com/p/is-scoot-henderson-the-2nd-best-player

the entire article is an interesting read. Whether or not the author is full of shit I don't know

I don't know how the guy got to Scoot shooting 34.5% on three's. Scoot shot 27% in g-league. Maybe he adjusted for the difference in distance of the 3-point line in the NCAA

I think he makes a somewhat valid point about the lack of defensive resistance Scoot faced.

accounting for Scoot's actual 3ptFG% + 2ptFG% lands Scoot as the worst shooter among all those guys, and again, this was against the weakest defense

Went to a signing with Dame and Wall back in the day. Always thought a defensive guard like him could pair well. Blazers should suit Dame up for Scoots workout and see if the young kid could stop him, D is key.

Something interesting that I'm looking at

2FGM%AST is the number of 2 pointers made that were assisted. 35.6% of his 2 pointers were assisted. To me, this means he can play off the ball.

To put this into comparison, Dame's 2FGM%AST is 15.7%.

His 3FGM%AST is a lot closer to Dame though. 42.9% compared to Dame's 48.4%.

The dude doesn't shoot many 3s though. 81% of his shots are 2PT. Compare that to Dame who only has 33.4% for 2.

you should have just confiscated my useless thread. :)

How do we want to play? I prefer fast paced and putting the pressure on the defense. That's how you get easy buckets and free throws. Shaedon has shown he's fantastic in transition already. Would be nice to have someone like Morant.
