Dunno if I've posted this anywhere yet, but I just want to go on record saying I'm not sold that Whiteside is what we need. I'm not convinced he's a team player.

Jeeze one fucking tweet from woj and now everyone is writing us off with whiteside.
 
Things can change in an instant. Just look at the Deandre jordan fiasco from last year. As long as we get our meeting, which it surely looks like we will, sources can easily go from what woj put to "Portland looks to be in the lead for Whiteside" or something like that.
 
I would like to remind people that woj kept saying we were in the mix for Aldridge up until the last day. Clearly that wasn't true.
 
Maybe it's just because we haven't had a good past with free agents but why do i feel like he will monroe us? last year it was bucks or portland for monroe and he went to the bucks which honestly made sense then because we looked like a 25 win team. I just don't understand why Dallas is a top free agents desired place to go, or one of them at least. Dirk is old. Deron is past his prime. Wes isn't the same. What's the selling point there? WAY better situation in Portland and it's obvious to me who he should choose. Even if Dallas was able to get Conley, I don't think that team is still attractive. On top of that, your boy Parsons is meeting with Portland too so come on, this isn't that tough of a decision between the two. If he chooses Dallas, fuck that dude forever. If he was smart, he would come here

I don't think that is really what Woj is saying; that's the problem with these short tweets. He says Whiteside's focus today is on Miami and Dallas. He is meeting Miami today and Dallas just at the end of today. His focus tomorrow will be on the Blazers, then he has all day to make his July 1 decision.

So no Whiteside, no Horford, no Noah, this is why I wanted to hit the lottery that's the only way we get stars by getting lucky and drafting them.

A 2nd team all NBA player and an emerging star all under 25 can't even draw us top players.

Let this is be a I told you so moment for all you guys
 
What exactly did you tell us? Don't act all high and mighty, everyone of us here know our history that we cannot sign big name free agents. Everyone. You did not tell us anything new. This time some of chose to look at this with optimism. We may get him. We probably won't. None of that is new if we dont
 
I bet Cuban sold him on being the star there. Funny thing is, whiteside is and never will be that kind of player. He wont lead a franchise. Sold him the same shit as Deandre Jordan. Dumb move

Or we could just be optimistic too and say, of course Dallas are the front runners, Portland hasn't met with him yet...

I think most realize the odds to get Whiteside atm are not great but to just throw your hands up and give up is kind of silly too. I would rather have SOME faith then give up and turn negative cause it's not over til it's over.
 
The NBA seriously needs to investigate tampering. This is getting fucking ridiculous. Nobody has met with anyone yet and there's already rumors about where people are going?

I wanted to hit the lottery. That's the only way we get stars here. Olshey is a great at spotting talent.

I just want ya to know that don't ever regret tanking Bc this successful season hasn't done anything.

I don't even blame the Blazers management either. They can't change the market and all the sudden give it fantastic nightlife or whatever hell these players want. But let this be a lesson during a pointless year when we know we won't win the championship to just tank it while our two stars are still relatively young.

In a way this is a good teaching moment and great example even IF WE HAVE a 2nd team all NBA player, another emerging star, made noise in the playoffs that we still won't get big time players.

It's all good maybe we can find those hidden gems to sign for a good deal
