We've been over this! THIS EXACT THING! Trading CJ and starting AC you suggested it a few days ago on another thread and it was met with scorn from me and others who understand what the hell is actually going on. NOW YOU MADE A THREAD FOR IT.

Im talking about the poison pill provision Im talking about him being our best player on half of the nights Im talking about his attitude and demeanor and everything that makes him CJ. You are on this tip like somehow he is tradeable WHEN HE SO OBVIOUSLY IS NOT. NO gave him a contract that all but guaranteed he would remain a Blazer for the next 5 years.

But here you go trotting out this dead horse like youre a trade genius and all we need to do is move CJ to the bench or for a big and we're gunna be better. Hit bricks homie you dont get basketball.

The problem I have with Crabbe is that he's not really in a funk. He is just nondescript for large stretches of minutes. He teased me with his aggressiveness in the preseason and in game 1 of the season.

As for the last game, I only watched the 2nd half. He must have totally dominated the first half, because he completely bricked wide open shot after wide open shot in the 2nd.

I'm certainly not giving up on Crabbe. He's still young, and can improve. He was a star at Cal, It's possible that he can still do everything he does now, but add that star mentality of making things happen.

Yesterday in the first half was the most aggressive I've ever seen him. Taking confident drives to the rim and then shooting before even getting a chance to think about it. And to no one's surprise, he plays better on defense when he makes shots. I think he needs to understand his role a bit better. Come in. Shoot, and play solid D. As long as he stops deferring and waiting for CJ or ET to set him up EVERY DAMN TIME, he's gonna be fine. He got a bit cold in the second half, but his defense (last night, anyway) was solid. He deserved to stay on the floor and CJ on the bench.

Side bar, one thing I've noticed is how CJ does a horrible job of finding the guy on fire. When AC has hit three jumpers in a row and is wide open off curls, you give him the ball. Instead CJ dribbles 15 times and takes a contested floater instead.

Why is this such a prevailing notion? Crabbe's defense is horribly overrated in this forum. IMO Crabbe is s horrible defender and gets beat A LOT. IMO saying Crabbe is a good defender is like saying Nate McMillan is a good defensive coach.

He is a third year player. I think he does well, especially considering he didn't get REAL BURN since last season. His defense was pivotal in beating the Clippers.

Well if you want to be technical, the thunder had a better record the year after they traded harden away. And they didn't get shit in return, so that's not even comparable to trading CJ for Cousins. Kevin Martin, isn't even in the league anymore.

A big 3 of Dame C.J. and Whiteside would be awesome, and unlike Cousins, all three are locked up long term. Even if we just got Noel withoout giving u C.J. or Harkless, we'd still have our our 25+ ppg leader, our 20+ ppg No. 2, a 23-year old 15+ ppg No. 3 and and an elite 22-year old defender.

Your question (and insult) assumes our only options are standing pat or trading C.J. for Cousins. I hope Neil is a little more creative than that. There are a lot of other possibilities to improve this team that don't involve trading away our second best player.

I would love Whiteside, or Cousins, or even Noel.

I don't see Miami trading Whiteside without giving up CJ. If I'm Miami, I'm trading Dragic, not Whiteside.

No no captian hindsight please tell us more about how we didnt try to sign him and he went back to miami! Your brilliance is actually unmatched elsewhere and the blazers NEED YOUR HELP. I suggest you call up Mr. Allen tell him all of your great insights into how and which free agents to target (since Neil and company OBV isnt working out). Collective bargaining rules and luxury tax be damned only YOU can make this work!

I'm talking about the response I got from posters on here, to my idea about getting Whiteside, about a year ago.

Those responses about Whitesie, were very similar to the responses about Cousins.

And look how Whiteside, turned out.

Someone said that getting Whiteside in the offseason, would be the "Biggest mistake in Trailblazers history" or something to that affect.

Multiple people said he sucked at defense, and was a loose cannon that couldnt be controlled on any team, and was a locker room cancer....

I'm pretty sure all the people that said those things, had never even watched him play a game.

I've been labeled a Crabbe hater because I think he's grotesquely overpaid based on his level of production, but I've never once expressed any kind of hatred or dislike for Allen Crabbe personally. I can hate the contract without hating the man. He actually seems like a pretty good guy.
