Our mission is to not have an adversarial relationship between posters and the staff. It's about you, not us. It's just downright silly to put words in the profanity filter and then have to discipline people for "masked cursing." We've trusted our posters since day 1, and by far they've not abused the ability.

We do use the profanity filter for very few words that are truly offensive (e.g. of a hate speech nature). There might be a handful of words in it.

Yeah like Denny said, we let people do as they please and try not to interfere unless its necessary. The assumption is that its a largely adult-used website anyway (or at least old enough to not whine about swearing).
