Personally, I don't believe the term "Left" is solely a political one. To me, it describes a person's social beliefs, not political ones. If I had said "Democrats", then THAT would be a political label.

However, I don't think it's entirely dishonest to suggest a Left attachment here. Liberals are, after all, the harshest people when it comes to condemning one of their own. And really, my argument was that it wasn't anyone on the Right who he (Charles) would have to make amends with.
