an old quote

How do you get the Spanish accents and punctuation? Every time I want to respond in Spanish, I always have to leave things like tildas and upside down question marks and exclamation points off.

Even when I know how to say what I want to say, I go here, then type in the phrase, then copy and paste it into my post...

The entire Iraq war was paid for with money from China :devilwink:

Yet you want to blame the left, when the answer is RIGHT under your nose.

Read my post again, I think it is number 12, or more likely for the first time. Instead of replying to things you imagine people said why don't you try reading their actual words?

Nope, hoping we can make it through the rest of his one term without too much more damage. If this hasn't proven to people how stupid we were to let Bush and the Republicans spend us into debt, nothing will.

Why the fuck can't we just buy everyone a mansion and enough food for life and run the debt up to 900 trillion or 9 million trillion?

Here, I will quote it for you to make things easier on you.

By the way, it is a pretty silly argument to say that I am wrong about us borrowing ourselves into oblivion because Bush started it. What is wrong with people these days?

"How much of that money was borrowed from China?"
you're right about going into debt, we should have raised taxes when things were going well

"Which one of these stimulus chunks they are handing out creates manufacturing jobs?"
cash for clunkers

"Maybe every job will be a nursing job, nurses are quite valuable. You just can't pay them if nobody else makes anything to sell to the rest of the world."
except nobody wants to expand healthcare.

"Did you know that Vise Grips are being made in China now? One of the last three tool plants in this country closed so that what was once a great tool can be made cheaper and then SHIPPPED here and probably be sold for the same amount, only they can make more profit."
I don't know if he's made good on it, but Obama made it clear before election he wanted to tax companies more that ship jobs over seas.

"All these lefties want to share the wealth, how about they create just a LITTLE wealth here to be shared?"
i'm not sure what this directly means? "lefties" don't create jobs?

"I thank God that my girlfriend is a good hairdresser. When none of you have jobs, my girlfriend will still be able to get your wife to trade milk or sugar or medicine to us just so she can look pretty."
That's a good joke, because hairdressers will still have jobs if the economy collapses.

If the two were even on the same level it might help. The end cost of the Iraq war alone could have paid for healthcare for every American for the next 10 years. :dunno:

Oh and the fact that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11 might also factor in.

this

I think his problem was that was from a previous quote, (i will double check that after i post this) and he was responding to your post that didn't mention bush. :dunno:

I didn't mention Hitler either.

I like the cash for clunkers bullshit even though I know it is stupid. It helps me out, more new cars equals more wrecked cars with insurance.

So they ramped up production for a bit, doesn't mean it is going to last. Plus, I sorta recall GM ramping up production in MEXICO. (edit, find your own fucking link if you don't believe me)

It is pretty hard to pick out the new parts of this quote, but I will have to ask how Obama is going to tax the people that make Vise Grips if they just move the entire operation out of this country? That is like yelling at your girlfriend that she needs to do the dishes as she is packing up and leaving your dumb ass. Good luck with that.

If Obama said he wanted everyone to have flying cars by next summer, would you just trust him on that one too?

If the economy collapses there is a good damn chance my girlfriend will make more money than most of us, especially me. Nobody will fix a car when they don't have money, but women that have had their hair done once will always want their hair done.

I won't go too far into detail but...

- Bush and company did nothing to penalize China for the most blatant no-look currency pegging in the history of the world. So no matter how cheap American goods got, China's were cheaper.

- Free trade! It's such a great idea to do it around the world. Oh, until country X's currency is worth 1/4 of yours and they pay their people 1/4 of yours. But heaven forbid we enact any sort of equalizing factor to the goods from that country and put everyone on a level playing field. That would be protectionism, which I believe equates to Nazi communist inspired social fascism with a hint of liberalism according to some people.

Unless there are tariffs enacted or one currency adopted world-wide you will continue to hear the giant sucking sound Perot talked about. Except rather than Mexico it will be every poor country in the world sucking away our manufacturing jobs to the cheapest spot on the planet.
They've already moved at warp speed into the tech field so pretty much that leaves doctors and lawyers. And I'm pretty certain they'll find a way to outsource all of that eventually too.

Absolutely the same thing and totally the same period in time.

Here's a thought. For the few remaining people who can afford to buy Vise Grips...Obama will say "your product is not allowed in our country". That would pretty much take care of it until the vise grip black market rears its ugly head.

If the economy collapses there is a good damn chance my girlfriend will make more money than most of us, especially me. Nobody will fix a car when they don't have money, but women that have had their hair done once will always want their hair done.

But if they don't have money to fix a car how will they always fix their hair? Don't worry, I still drive a clunker. As long as I get food stamps I'll have something to trade you...

Most people's wives will make them give her foodstamps to trade for getting her hair done before they let you fix a dent in your car.

Funny thing about Vise Grips, just got back from Home Depot. Told my girlfriend I should buy some before the ones from China get her. Picked them up and they felt like cheap crap, looked on the back and sure enough....China. FUCK THEM.

I am not against tariffs and it is pretty sad when China can make a toaster and ship it around the world and WalMart can sell it for 7 dollars, cheaper than we could even dream of making them here. It is complete and utter bullshit.

Well, people want me to like Obama. Is he going to do anything about that stuff you mentioned or is he going to ignore it while our debt goes up to 10 or 20 trillion dollars?

Socialized health care doesn't change any of those things you mentioned.

Well I put all of your quotes in these things called "quotes" except the word "lefties." I suppose if you are talking about the vice grips being made here, and then sold overseas, then yes your analogy fits. I meant raising tariffs when they try to sell them back to us.

Obama said he would get some kind of public option, and he is trying to do that. Can you list some promises he backed out on? I know he tried to say the "don't ask don't tell" policy would be revoked, but they aren't touching it.

I honestly can't tell if you're being serious about the hairdresser thing; I was. Sure there are some people that will go into debt for stupid things like hairdressers, but I'd imagine nobody will give them credit if the economy has collapsed.

"here is something easy to read"
this isn't because it looks like that..................as opposed to this

"here is something easy to read"

This is too because there is a space. Pretty simple.

I don't care what promises Obama backs out on and I don't give two shits about don't ask don't tell. My personal policy would be "who gives a fuck?" but I don't get to make policy.

The hairdresser thing seems silly but my point is that her job is a service job but she actually does produce an end product that you will have a hard time duplicating at home. What the hell else do we make in this country that is worth anything to anyone? It seems like the Japanese build more cars here than we do, we build them in Mexico.

I just want to know how health care is suddenly the most important thing in the world for us. I would rather someone could put in plain English what is in our budget every year so we can decide what to cut and CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT....I would type CUT a thousand more times if I had the extra time.

Don't give me the Iraq war response either because I would pull each and every one of our troops out now. I don't care what anyone else says, I would bring them home ASAP.

I don't understand your first part other than, put an extra line? Which I'm happy to do in the future.

I agree that most of our jobs are going to be service industry, if all of the manufacturing goes the way of the buffalo.

I think the idea of knowing what should and shouldn't be cut is not something we can democratically vote on. Mainly because "Well i don't think we need fruitfly research, what good is that?!" as one example. (ask me if this needs more clarification) or "Volcano research" I'm sure there are democrats that say this stuff too, but I don't pick up on it so you'll have to forgive me for not listing them.

Then how do we figure out what we are paying taxes for? When Paul Allen had his empire at peak value, he probably didn't care about anything he was paying for. He had too much money to even worry about wasting it.

We were the same way as a country but even though it seems that people as rich as Paul Allen are being more careful on what they spend money on now, we as a country don't seem to care. We on the other hand talk about spending more than we ever have.

If there isn't a way to fix it I am just going to ignore it all and try and ride this bitch to the finish line. I am going to buy a new house, stock it with food and hope the doomsday crap doesn't come true. Who knows though?

I love the fact that the first line of defense for President Obama is "Well, what about Bush?"

People on the Left are going to have to find a new person to hate. Bush's Administration is over. President Obama is 1/6 through his first term. I think 8 months is enough time to start having to take responsibility for what's going on in America.

I just want to know how health care is suddenly the most important thing in the world for us.

It isn't to everyone. Each person has their own priorities. I don't think Obama is trying to hide from the deficit, it's just that there is an age-old battle about whether it's better to cut everything during the deficit and let things fall where they will or whether cutting too deep can actually accentuate a deficit into a recession and a recession into a depression and so on. Cutting health care costs across the board WILL help the economy. Part of the reason big manufacturers like GM tumbled fast is because of the huge healthcare costs they had with their current and former workforce. And part of that is due to the union's crazy demands that got met over the years. Now earlier this year, if you remember, the govt. (supposedly) forced the union to make some compromises if GM was to continue to exist. I believe this is part of the other step for all manufacturers of making it cheaper to employ Americans.

I would rather someone could put in plain English what is in our budget every year so we can decide what to cut and CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT CUT....I would type CUT a thousand more times if I had the extra time.

Well, have you downloaded a copy of the budget and looked through it?

And all the UAW got from that deal was their health trust fund getting 17.5% of GM. Poor babies.

I'm glad you think 9/11 was Bush's fault!

But I agree, that Obama should be responsible for his term. But you must set a reference point, "zero things out" so to speak. So where-ever the economy and debt was at when he came in, everything from that point on is their responsibility. That being said, Obama has improved our economy and he has grown our debt. Hopefully this debt can be repaid as the economy continues to rebound and taxes can be raised.

I said in plain English, why don't you download it and tell me how much of it is a legitimate use of our tax money?

Most of the reason that GM tumbled is because they made shit cars that got shit mileage for years. That and the outrageous wages they paid to the union workers. They should have just went completely bankrupt and started over again. Where were those low skilled union workers going to go? McDonald's doesn't pay 40 bucks an hour do they?

There has to be more people like you, maybe half of the population.

Why don't you just get y'all together and volunteer yourselves for more taxes. I could buy a fucking Cadillac with just the federal tax I pay each month.

We have roads here in Vegas that look like they haven't been fixed in 20 years, but they are just finishing up a nice trail with pedestrian bridges over those same shitty streets. The good thing is that the trails go along the smelly moldy drainage ditches we have for monsoon season. Even better is the number of homeless people that live in them, I for one wouldn't mind my wife being murdered walking along that trail:crazy:

Our government has no ability to prioritize anything, so maybe the only way to get them to do so is to cut their tax income to a bare minimum. If they need more for something important, they can beg for it.

Yeah, I left that one alone. It's tough to argue that black is white to someone that can't see it.

I imagine it is hard to argue that black is white.

barfo

I said in plain English, why don't you download it and tell me how much of it is a legitimate use of our tax money?

My point, in plain English, is that until you've actually downloaded and read the budget how do you know what is or isn't in there and what form the language takes? Maybe it's plain English, maybe it's complicated English, maybe it's Swahili (translated to plain English). But simply gesturing towards others to do your work is a little absurd, at least in plain English.

That and the outrageous wages they paid to the union workers.

Hrm..funny, I mentioned the same thing in my post in an indirect manner about union's demands. It's in there, in plain English.

That's the spirit! Screw everyone so you can buy a Caddie and spit in their faces!

http://www.truthandpolitics.org/top-rates.php

It's getting closer and closer to minimum, does that make you feel warm and fuzzy inside?
