Jeff Pendergraph will start for the injured Marcus Camby.

Yes thank god its pre season BUT.... if the words i typed above dont frighten you as a fan or a coach then you either dont want the blazers to win or drank too much blazer kool aid today.

Jeez though... its like the blazers had to know greg and joel werent close to being ready and they think jeff fucking penderfoul is the answer? he got owned by golden state scrubs last year in the reg season finale.

This is just a scary thing that could be reality quick with cambys injury history.

i'm thinking that if the game counted, you'd see a lot of Miller/Matthews/Roy/Batum/LMA lineups. Get the 5 best on the floor. JP isn't one of the 5 best. Heck, I'd almost rather see Dante or Babbitt at 4 and LMA at 5 than LMA at 4 and JP at 5.

It is preseason, but the words "Jeff Pendergraph" do scare me....a lot.

And wouldn't you know....we have returned to the hyperbole filled threads.

In all honesty, I'd rather see Aldridge at the 5 and Babbitt at the 4

Other than shooting the 3 I'm not sure what Babbitt does better than Cunningham right now. Cunningham himself is a knockdown 15ft shooter.

I haven't seen a ton of Babbitt, but when I have, I just see a slow white guy.

In an attempt to save this worthless thread, those uniforms sure were sharp.

:drinkapint: Can I have another serving of Blazer Kool-Aid, please?

Seriously dude, it's pre-season...if it were regular season, we'd have LA at the 5.

I think the Blazers should be kicked out of the NBA for this.

I agree, and if you were to create a petition for this cause, I would gladly be the first person (outside of yourself and David Stern, naturally) to sign it!

I was only talking preseason. However, with the way everyone is raving about him in camp, who knows?

I'm not thrilled about the prospects of Pendergraph at center, but to somehow throw up the best game of his career as evidence that he can't play really boggles the mind.

You're better than this Mixum

I'm not worried, MIXUM, but welcome back!

I like Pendy! I think he gets too much criticism in here. He can board and he can smack people. That's all we need out of him.

Do people actually think that Camby being injured is a positive? I realize it is only the pre-season, but...

Perhaps people's positive thinking will actually injure Camby?

Metaphysical barfo rides again.

This video accurately explains my metaphysical feelings about this thread.

(no, it's not rick roll. Some might not understand it, but it's pretty straight forward)

Camby is already inujred. Perhaps thinking negative about Marcus will heal him?

Wow, you're not only boring, but you're a Me-Too. A dual threat! Zzzzzzz

i actually dont mind Pendy - just not at starting C.

Didn't pendegraph get like 14 rebounds when he got extended time vs the clippers last season?

Having all of our centers injuried sucks but its preseason, if it comes to the regular season and we have to start him at center for a game well then that will suck but I'd like to see Pendegraph dunk on Blake Griffen :)

I've seen the stats (link posted by HCP) from the Warriors game and thought, well - Pendergraph scored 23 points (just 4 boards though) but there were other players with some amazing stats like Rudy and Bayless with 9 Assists and Batum and Dante both with double-digits in rebounding. (Also: Stepeh Curry)
Then I saw the movie posted by Fez and I must say I'm not sure I've watched that entire game. Some of it looks familiar and I remember them having only 4 players able to play, but there are some things Pendergraph does in that game that I surely would remember...
He was a big disappointment in Summer-League, though, so I guess you can be either optimistic or pessimistic, but I think it could be a blessing in disguise. Give him major minutes with the prime-time players and hope he produces. If he gives you 23+4 (or even better: 15+10) that's good enough for us to beat the Clippers and for the management to feel much more at ease about our big-men health status.
We have 3 Centers in-front of him but they would be sharing more than 48 minutes per game (There will be twin-tower combos inside, sometimes when Aldridge goes to the bench) and none of them are healthy right-now or have history as iron-men. So, if Pendy can do the above and prove he's good enough to be this year's version of Juwan Howard, if needed, we're more-or-less set for the season.
But, If he can't produce and plays like the Pendy of summer-league (haven't seen him but the reports here in the forum weren't good), then we could be facing a critical weakness inside that would have to be addressed.

Camby practiced today, and Nate would like him to play tomorrow @ Utah.
