Roper is gone now too, and Pflugrad is gone. I have heard 2 arguments, 1: CK is an Ass and a Douche and is rubbing people the wrong way already. 2: Transfers happen all the time in upper tier programs, "The cream rises to the top, the other just falls away" so Oregon is on the way up. Or is it some of both I wonder. Thoughts?

Meh. Transfers happen all the time in D-1 programs. Roper is a competitor and is looking for a place to play. This is what happens when you get top recruits from all over the country. All of these guys are looking at college as a springboard to the NFL, and if you aren't seeing the field, you probably feel it's within your best interests to transfer elsewhere.

I wish Roper nothing but the best. For a guy who was recruited as a drop-back passer in the system that preceded Chip Kelly, he made the best out of the spread and had some excellent games, including the Sun Bowl a couple years ago.

I don't buy the whole "CK is an ass and a douche." If you look at Oregon's offensive recruiting since CK has been here, you can't argue with his ability to connect with 18-22 year old competitors.

Ya, Roper is strictly a good quarterback in the wrong system. He doesn't have the mobility to hold up in a spread offense where he'll be asked to carry the ball multiple times. With the return of Costa, Thomas as the guy of the future and Masolli firmly planted as the #1, Roper realized his playing time wouldn't be enough to get him looks from the next level.

Roper seems like a really good kid, and smart QB. If he ends up in a school that's looking to pass 50 times a game, he'll put up really outstanding numbers. Certainly hope for the best for him.
 
No biggie, Roper was the best pure passer on the Ducks roster, but with the 100% commitment to the spread option, he was never going to thrive here even if he was given a chance. The Ducks will never have an NFL caliber type QB come to the college as long as the spread option is the primary offense. That's fine because they'll win a lot of ballgames with it, but passers are going to flock to NFL type offenses like USC and Georgia.

Haha...don't get too excited about Nate Costa. I don't think he's got a whole lot left in those knees of his.

yeah that one hurt a bit more than Roper and Pflugrad. At least we can say we saw this one coming. Kid obviously couldnt handle it so far away from home. And Wanted to play QB.. its obvious he wasnt going to get to play that here more than spot snaps. Although with Roper gone I was hoping Harper could mop up if need be after Masoli, to save DT's Redshirt this year.

based on.... These guys didnt leave cause they hate Kelly or something. They werent gonna play here, plain and simple. And Harper wasnt gonna play QB and thats what he wants.

Thats just last years Civil War game in Corvallis without Quizz Rodgers. I do think Quizz would have made a difference in that game if he had played and the score would have been a lot closer than that. Not to mention Moevao throwing 2 int didn't help either. I don't see Beavers jumping their program this year so for you to post this score has no justifiable means to what might happen to the Ducks season this year with chemistry. A score doesn't tell you anything that goes on within a program. Its obvious that some Duck players aren't liking whats going on and its making the program look bad. Beavers will have a tough shot at QB this year but so will the Ducks. Its not like Ducks have had injuries in the QB position. :D . Again, STOMP that score didn't have grounds to the current issue at hand and could hurt further recruits the upcoming season.

So when guys leave USC because they cant get up the depth chart there it makes their program look bad? Does it seem to hurt their recruiting? Look I'm not gonna get into a 65-38 trash talk session, cause thats not my style. And I'm not gonna give into that crap to hijack this into a trash talking thread. So just going on your comments about this it seems like guessing without much substance.

please expand on your theory how that score is going to hurt future Duck recruits or recruiting. Last I checked, Oregon was doing just fine bringing in another solid class of freshman following another solid season.
