I heard this was the hottest winter in recorded history or some shit.
True? It was one of the coldest on the east coast

Well, the entire earth. All of the earth.

I am just happy to find I won't freeze to death circling the place.

It depends on where you measure
As near as I can tell, there really is no "global temperature." Where do you insert the thermometer to tell?
As you said, it was one of the coldest winters in the midwest and on the east coast.

Shackleton's nightmare
Well, I dont suppose to be a thermometer expert, but is there no way to compile such data?
Only a fool would say the climate doesn't change.
I pity the fool.

You'd think so. But if they put thermometers at sea level and at 12000 ft, or measure at the top of the atmosphere, they're going to get a different value, right?
Well sure, but if I put a thermometer in my ass, and another one one in your ass, we could split the difference though

Where did the glaciers go that covered the great lakes 10,000 years ago?
Are there two earths in this scenario? I should have been more attentive in theoretical multi earth thermometer class. But they're not the same measurement are they? Two different asses altogether.
And if my ass is 100 and yours is 98, it's not true that yours is the average (99).

So, is the argument that those air conditioners are running more in recent years and that change is distorting the measured temperature?
Why would air conditioners be running more? Is it maybe because it's hotter?
