Circling back to the Lakers since so many think they’re the favorites. Has anyone actually looked at how awful of a basketball fit Ingram and Kuzma would be with Zion (and Jrue?) Neither one spaces the floor very well. Both are below average outside shooters The only way the Lakers are getting AD is if they ship those guys somewhere else for an all star caliber player who they’d reroute to New Orleans. But the question is who? Bradley Beal? Playing around with trade machine, the money wouldn’t even work (for anyone in Beals bracket actually) Lakers don’t have enough $ to trade out.

Why are they the favorites again?

Boston wasn't on Kyrie's list. Toronto wasn't on Kawhi's, so this means very little from a trade perspective.

Anything else of note in that article?

Agreed on your point. But to my point, it's another reason to not like Davis. He speaks out both sides of his mouth - "win" and "NYK" are totally opposite things. Sounds like, really, he values location and being "the man" more than he values winning. That's cool - but along with all my other reasons, it's just one more reason I don't really want to trade for him.

Of course Dame has said similar things (would rather stay in POR and not win), but it's completely different because (a) he's been consistent in what he says and (b) he's being loyal, rather than a sell out, in order to achieve that goal.

While this is pretty much true, wouldn't you rather have a player tell you he isn't going to re-sign a full season and a half beforehand instead of claiming he's going to stay and bolting for nothing? If I'm New Orleans I'd much rather have Davis do this compared to what guys like Durant and Aldridge did.
For sure. But the way he went about it was ASS. Even if you set aside the likely collusion between him, LBJ, and their agent it was a piss poor way to go about it. (Of course, Kawhi wasn't much better. But Porzingas was!)

I don't know about Porzingis being better. He was on his rookie deal and had a serious knee injury. Him threatening to take the qualifying offer was a bitch move too.

I agree that AD's agent shouldn't have gone public with things but I'd much rather deal with the fall out from that then thinking this whole time that AD would sign his super max extension and stay with the team only to bail when that time came.

Take it with a grain of salt, much of this could be from his mouthpiece Rich Paul.

Weird, isn't it? He could want to go to the Clips or Nets, be in the cities he likes, and have a chance of being competitive as well. Instead, he targets the Fakers and Knicks? :dunno:

Could just be his agent trying to steer him to LeBron. I mean, that’s his client as well. I don’t know about the Knicks part, maybe they think they’ll land KD?

Somebody clicked on the "Post new thread" button on the main page. They then entered a title, and some information in the body. Finally, they selected create thread, and here we are.

You left out the part where Russia hacked him into doing it. Russians hacking into things is the primary reason anything ever happens and it really paints a different picture when you leave part that out of it. Watch Rachel Maddow, learn something.

But you do want to derail another thread.
How is talking about the topic of a thread derailing it?

You seem to be derailing it more by saying I'm trying to derail it.

This happens to several here. We talk about the thread, but with a different point of view, then someone calls that person a troll and says they are derailing the thread. However, the person who actually derailed it is the person who accused the person of being a troll for having a different point of view.

Saw this trade proposed on another site, thoughts?

Portland gets AD and Nic Batum,

Hornets get ET and Moe

Pelicans get CJ, Zach, Hornets #12 pick and Blazers #25

We keep Nurk to play along side AD and clear ET and Moe's salaries.

Your contribution to this thread has been different variations of “it isn’t happening.” We got it the first time.

Hope we can get Davis while keeping Ant, Lillard, and Nurk.

I am brimming with hope, but doubt it would happen. I don't know if it's because I've become a pessimist, or a curmudgeon.
