He was, and I bought into the hype (although not to the level of those players).

But, again, McLemore's by-far chief asset was as a distance shooter. If that doesn't work (and it didn't), nothing else in his game was good enough to cover for that. Funny aside, but I wonder if he's a guy that could be a value FA for the Blazers, another reclamation project who could resuscitate his career here.

Getting back to Culver, though, Culver's calling card is defense and being able to create inside the arc while having a solid 3-point stroke. He's built like McLemore, but he has a lot more ways he can contribute.

I’d take Culver if the trade were different for sure.

For example if it were Ingram, Moore, Hill, 4, and 39 for CJ I’d take Culver.

They can't combine Ingram with other players in a trade like that until mid-August now.

I guess, but CJ for Jrue is a pretty even trade. I'd be shocked if any team included the #4 pick as well. You guys are way undervaluing that pick, even in a weak draft.

CJ value all time high, he fits the new roster better than Jrue, players available at 4 don’t fit their new roster.

How does getting a shoot first guard with way worse defense in CJ fit their roster better than Jrue? Why not keep Jrue and trade Lonzo somewhere else if that's the problem? At the very least they could get something really good for Jrue without having to give up the 4th pick too.

Speaking of the 4th pick, why not just take the best player and trade others that don't fit your roster? I'm not a huge Zion believer, but if I was the Pelicans my only concern would be building around him. I don't think they can go wrong with Culver, Hunter, or Garland.

I’d think long and hard about Jrue+4(Hunter) for CJ, I think it’d make sense for both teams.

There's no way NO does that trade. Jrue is equal to CJ. Why would they give up the #4 in addition?

That trade is ridiculously bad for them, and would never happen.
