Exclusive Anthony Davis Sweepstakes Entry: Blazers

Olshey is the king of helping other teams make major moves while he minimally upgrades his own. I swear the only way we’re ever landing a Star is if one develops through the draft.
But that's why it might not be a bad idea to help in this situation if a high pick is involved.

Add BOS first round picks in perpetuity going NO's way. We also pop under the tax with this to get a full MLE.

What if we end up with pick #4?
I just don't see a 3 team deal the Blazers would be involved in that would improve them nearly as much as it would improve LAL if they are just facilitating a trade of AD.
If they get the #4 then that means almost definitely they gave up a major piece of their own, like CJ, and the #4 for CJ would be a terrible trade for Portland.
If their trading ET to get cap space, then ok? but I doubt LAL or NO want ET enough that he would be a piece needed for this type of trade.

I don't see any 3 team deals where the Blazers are involved to help the Pels and the Lakers where it doesn't just make LAL a lot better and the Blazers get anything significant.

I don’t know about all that but Turner and Moe/Leonard for Hayward is a trade I’ve long wanted, and if Boston gets Davis they’d probably even more motivated to dump Hayward’s contract.

It really seems like a stupid move on Rich Paul's part, to me. You've just further cut down the number of teams that would be willing to trade for your guy AND you've diminished the return haul. If I'm NO, I'm like "OK, sit another year. We'll explore trades again at the midseason deadline, and, if AD doesn't play, our own pick will be in the top 10 again anyway."
seems to me that Davis and his agent have the advantage in getting what they want. To a team he prefers sooner or later.

My theory is this is all bullshit. Here’s the formula

1. Put out tweet about how a major market team is trying to get deal done (just like every other team that’s called the pelicans, but those aren’t as interesting)

2. Follow up tweet with link to story, which is essentially the same as the first tweet, just with more filler.

Traffic. Work done. That’s it.

dviss1...you work for the Kohler distributor?
I used to sell their gen sets and engines and have been to their factories many times. Their design center is outstanding and the porcellin plant is amazing.
The Kohler village is very unique too. They built the village with german style homes they either sold too or leased to employees.
Great Company!

I work for KOHLER's installation division.

We remodel bathrooms and install showers, baths, Walk-in baths etc.

KOHLER is an ALL AMERICAN company.

The Lakers appear to be trying to exercise some level of restraint in trade talks, especially given that they hold the leverage as Davis' preferred destination. Davis' agent Rich Paul of Klutch Sports has indicated publicly and privately to the Celtics that Davis would leave Boston in free agency in 2020, essentially becoming a one-year rental for the Celtics.
Again, this is bullshit. If LA fails to land Davis, you really think they're gonna waste yet another year of Lebron's career to wait for Davis in 2020? They're gonna blow their capspace on someone like Boogie or Tobias. LA does not have the leverage that Rich Paul thinks it does.

Herb Kohler and fam are big time conservatives and supported Walker. I wouldn't hold that against them tough...lol

Must have some insight. As a journalist and insider in my own business (1/10000000 the power of Woj), I can get away with this kind if méthods once. But the club "leaked" wrongly in the rumour will be mad at me. I am sure on his scale he has the same relations to maintain.

That’s an awful trade for the pelicans. They’d be surrounding Zion with a bunch of non shooters.

I don’t buy the Lakers at all. But maybe Griffin is stupid idk.
They could potentially flip them at the deadline

I’m not saying those teams aren’t interested, but by tweeting only two specific teams (Boston and LA) it suggests to the casual fan that they’re essentially the only teams in the hunt and it’ll come down to one or the other. Just check out the comments on any of those tweets.

I dunno what the rush is. These offers will be there by the deadline too. I'm guessing this is Rich Paul's last ditch effort to get this done before BOS can actually make an offer on July 1.

Ok I unterstand better.

Yes. It's called nepotism and - especially when it comes to positions that matter (ie, not basketball) - it matters a great deal.

Stop. Me becoming a coach because my buddy owns the program isn't nepotism.

It's choosing someone to place in the position that you trust and you know will do a good job.

Neil talks a lot bla bla bla, i'm sure it will be a quite offseason for us, like allways. He's just not a GM who can bring a Star Player, not even in a trade, Imagine if we had ujury or what his name is

Chris. Paul.

Nepotism involves relatives and favors. It doesn't really pertain to non relatives that are acquaintances or friends or fof's.

Not what the dictionary says but hey, The Merriam Webster is a piece of shit anyway.

nep·o·tism
/ˈnepəˌtizəm/

noun
  1. the practice among those with power or influence of favoring relatives or friends, especially by giving them jobs.
"his years in office were marked by corruption and nepotism"
