If we really think Simons is gonna develop into something, does it make CJ easier to trade? Same with Skal, and Zach.

It would be risky, but AD is a special special player.
Yes (with Ant replacing CJ) and No (with Skal ever becoming productive).

We have the talent on the team to win the title right now. I don't understand how so many of you don't recognize this.
They have the talent to be an extremely good team.
But they need another stud. Someone who replaces Nurk as the teams second best player.
Then, you're a championship contender. A very serious contender.
(edit: meaning making Nurk the 3rd best player)

Nah they just need Zach to develop the way I think he will. With Dame, CJ, Nurk, and an improved Zach we have plenty of firepower.

No, we don't. We got swept by a depleted Warriors team that might lose in 5. We can only bring back 1 of the 3.

I don't think we are even remotely close to winning the title right now. I also believe that if Olshey believes that then this is the last time we have seen how it is in the West Conf Finals.

Yes we do. Nurk will be back and Collins will be better. Ant will be big time as well.

Our sample size for Simons is one game. Against a lottery bound team playing its scrubs most of the time.

CJ single handedly won us a game 7 on the road in one of the toughest environments in the NBA.

We need to slow our roll here. Simons is a ways away IF he'll ever get there.

Our team at the time of Nurkic's leg break was top 4 in the league IMO. But, we now face likely losing most of our free agents (Kanter, Hood, Curry, Aminu and Layman).

Our forwards are still performing under normal NBA standards and should be improved. But the temptation to go for it (ADavis) is big.

Following this guy now.

His reported package is essentially what’s been discussed before on this board. And if you think about it, CJs value will never be higher. I’d love to build a team around Dame,AD, and Nurk. I also believe AD would stay, and Dame would be influential in making that happen. CJ is also a perfect fit in New Orleans, especially next to Jrue.

So if the Batum and ET thing goes down, our lineup would be something like:

Dame/Hill/Batum/Davis/Nurk?

You'd have to find a way to bring Hood back. But holy shit, that's incredible defensively. Hella expensive, but sick.

The only unbelievable part of the rumor is Olshey growing the pair to do it. But him and Griffin are close and it makes sense, so I believe it’s at least being discussed.

Woj from an hour ago https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/26941750/pelicans-open-multi-team-davis-deal

The success of the Kawhi Leonard rental in Toronto has also seemed to embolden factions of Davis' nonpreferred and smaller-market destinations to probe New Orleans on trades, league sources said.

According to front offices who've engaged in conversations with Griffin, he hasn't sounded convinced that one team is likely to fulfill his wishes for a Davis deal. To that end, Griffin has been working to find multiteam trade scenarios that could redirect assets for players or picks more preferable to the Pelicans, sources said.

Griffin is pursuing a combination of assets that include an All-Star player, a young player with All-Star potential and two first-round picks, league sources said. Those wants are on a sliding scale. For example, the better the player, the softer the requests on the draft picks -- and vice versa.

That's certainly a starting place in trade talks, but there remains uncertainty on how many assets teams will be willing to move for Davis, who could leave as a free agent next July.

In whatever deal the Pelicans make, Griffin wants the assets to continue building a Western Conference playoff team around guard Jrue Holiday and the projected No. 1 overall pick, forward Zion Williamson, sources said.

Certainly fits the CJ + Collins + 2 first idea.

I think the roadblock will be the ability to land a lottery pick. But Batum + 12 for ET saves Charlotte approx 33 mil. If Kemba's walking, that's probably not a bad plan for them.
