6'11 freshman from LSU. 18 yeards old. Chad Ford has us taking him with the 10th pick as of now. He compares him to Chris Bosh, DX compares him to rudy gay. Worst case brandan right or tim thomas.
Strengths:
• Size
• Wingspan
• Quickness
• Explosiveness
• Fluidity
• Left-handed
• 4/3 mismatch threat (in style right now)
• Ability to run the floor
• Ball-handling skills
• Ability to create shots w/either hand
• Mid-range jumper
• Shot-blocking
• Defensive potential/Quick enough to hedge screens on p’n’r
• Only 18 years old
• Huge upside
Weaknesse
• Lacks strength
• Skinny frame
• Lives off instincts/Lacks fundamentals
• Forces issue/ Doesn’t know limitations
• Turnover prone
• Cannot hold spot on the block
• Fades away/Struggles finishing through contact
• Poor 3-point shooter
• Shot selection
• All-around defense
• Can he guard NBA PFs?
• Pushed around in post
• Inconsistent motor
• Lacks awareness
• Always on losing teams
• Intangibles?

Ive looked for vids but i havent found any. If you got any post him please...
Anyway thoughts on this kid?

He reminds me more of Prince with the long wingspan. Wouldn't be a bad pick-up if they see something in him during workouts.

He could move up. People are comparing him to Bosh. Of course, taking an athletic big man from LSU bears some risk. Ask the GM's who took Stromile Swift and Tyrus Thomas.

I have it from a person that I trust that Randolph is nothing like TT and Stro upstairs

He is the one "project" that I would take early

I don't like him. Very weak, takes to many stupid shots. Everyone talks about his mid-range game but it really isn't all that great, he's streaky.

Even more reason for him to like him

I think he might turn out to be the next Prince, but with better shot and worse defense.

do you have videos of randolph playing against high caliber competition instead of the dumbest players in the country?

QUOTE

6′11″ LSU Freshman Forward is Consensus Pick in Latest Mocks
LSU’s Anthony Randolph has emerged as the top choice for the Nets should they retain the #10 pick in June’s draft … at least in mock drafts. Of 22 mock drafts updated in the last 10 days, Randolph is the Nets’ choice in seven of them, followed by DeAndre Jordan of Texas A&M with four and three other big men with three, Marreese Speights of Florida, Roy Hibbert of Georgetown and Robin Lopez of Stanford.

Coooool. I know nothing about Randolph, barely anything about Jordan, and nothing about Speights. But no thanks to Robin, and I could see Hibbert dropping...so no thanks there, either.

Hibbert stayed in school. Who would you rather take? Deandre Jordan or Anthony Randolph?

Of course, I would never visit the sins of the fathers on Randolph. He could also turn about to be Bob Pettit.

Or dare I say...THE DADDY?

I like Anthony Randolph.
I have a short video of him in my crap-tastic video mock draft at #8:
Part 1:
Part 2:

I personally don't think he will be on the board when we are up but if he's there then I take him in a second. He's a 6'10 SF who has excellent ball handling skills, good jumper and decent range, he's athletic and I think he can contribute right off the bat next season. He be a nice fit if we plan on trading RJ in the offseason and can eventually ease him into that role. Only 18 years old!

Thanks for the video links guys, that was my first time being able to see some game footage.

I had always viewed Randolph as an undersized big man (mass-wise), who would have to develop wing skills on the next level. I was pleasantly surprised to see that he played much more like a wing player than a PF, and looked very impressive (but then again, it's a highlight mix for a reason).

i really love his game as well. reminds me of lamar odom. a player like him is so rare, 6'10, offensive and defensive factor. arggh... him, or kevin love

I originally wanted no part of him, but now he may be my favorite prospect among those that may realistically last to 10

Wow i really liked what i saw.

I don't care that he is 18. I don't care that he weighs 200 pounds. That crossover on the break plus those under-and-up reverse dunks blew me away.

He'll never last til #10. Never. My fear is that the evil Knicks take him.

Wow, this NBA.com link is amazing. Tons of draft prospects in high quality video. You should make a new thread about this resource (and please don't sticky it unless you want to guarantee no one will look at it).
