I'm sorry but the safe house quota has been filled. I heard that MIXUM and Maris are looking for a spot though!

Sincere question: Why do you own guns? Except for hunting, I don't see the need. Seems a little extreme and actually unneeded for home protection. How many times have an armed intruder broken into your home while you are there?

Oregon police say both an intruder and a Portland homeowner phoned 911 to report the same thing: a strange man in a home.
Lt. Kelli Sheffer says the intruder told police he had just broken into a home Monday evening when the owner arrived — and the caller was worried the homeowner might have a gun.
Accompanied by his two German Shepherds, the homeowner found the intruder and asked what he was doing in the house. That's when the stranger locked himself in a bathroom and phoned police.

I've only shot military weapons, and haven't bought one for the house (yet).
I'm pretty good with the Beretta and M-16, and I think it's pretty difficult to suck with a Mossberg 500. But with a wife and (soon two) small children in the house, and moving to a major city, I'm on my way back to my military thinking:
"You never need a gun until you need one badly"
So I'm pretty sure I'd want a pistol with more punch than a 9mm, and maybe a shotgun for home. I'll take suggestions.![]()
I wouldn't mind having a Barrett, but it would be expensive as hell to shoot.
