Any stat geeks that can help me?

I'm working on creating a new baseball statistic using a bunch of different numbers and putting them into a formula...but it takes like 10 minutes to do each player, I want something that likes get the statistics and puts them in the formula and calculates and updates it say if I want to put it on a website or blog.

Like fangraphs obviously doesn't have people updating the statistics all the time, they must have some type of program, I'd like something like that. For example if I want to do Troy Tulowitzki, is there something where I say here's the formula for the stat

(AB+H+wOBA+HR/HR Leader) (its not that, just an example)

Can I say okay go to this website (say fangraphs) to get this statistics, ESPN to get this statistic and then it jsut updates on its own say once in 24 hrs.

About the only site I know of, which has current stats of all players, yet is updated every 24 hrs. Thus the day prior often may not show up til the day after, maybe 2 days, yet that may get you close....

have you tried: www.baseball-reference.com ??????

Ah I see, yes indeed I did misunderstand ya'.....I don't know of any program used to do what your looking for....good luck, and keep us posted.....! Sorry I couldn't help...!

So if I'm understanding you correctly its like the box score here on the computer while the games is being played. With every at bat the players average is updated to the 2nd. You mean something like that?

not sure I totally get what you are saying, but basically whatever program say ESPN uses to update each player's avg each day (they obviously don't have people goin though every single hitter nightly and updating their avg), is what I need for my stat, but instead of the program doing say H/AB I'd need to do my formula, but I'd also need to get the statistics to plug in

Okay check this out, right now there's a game going on between the Giants & the Dodgers. I'm going to supply you here with the box score link to that game. After EVERY at bat a players average, OBP etc is updated in the box score. So my question is this something that you're trying to create?

After this 3 game series b/t Frisco and LA, they both play each other 6 more games in September, always a shoot out intense time of the year b/t both teams vying for the Pennant, so often over the years.....Almost but not quit as great a rivalry as the Yanx and Bosox over the years, close but not quit....Yet for NL action, it doesn't usually get better than Bums/Giants games, and Pennant races....Kudos.....my friend...!

Remember when Marichal broke his bat over Roseboro's head???? Like it were yesterday, and the rivalry has never really cooled down since. Tho' seems the Bums went on to get into scraps, fights with the Padres in the 80s, and the D'Backs in this current age. thus the SF/L.A. rivalry was kinda put on the back burner, yet with the beating of the Giants Fan here in L.A. by Bum gang bangers, its heated right back up, to an all time high.....sad....

After last night the Dodgers now have a 1/2 game lead. Tonight's game I believe is on ESPN I hope you get it. It kills me to say this but I think the Dodgers will take the division because of there pitching & I just hope the Giants can grab a wild card. Right now there are just to many teams in the NL with similar records. Currently there are approx 7 teams within 2 games of each other. So anything can happen over the last 2 months. But I'm hoping my Jints can put a little streak together. And for a start thet need to take the final game of tonights series to take the lead back.
