I get what you’re saying, and I may be one of those you cant see so who knows. However I kind of disagree. Sometimes you can address a post you might find crazy (or whatever) without thinking that the poster is altogether crazy. Use for example game threads, during a game people get emotional and I’ll use myself, sometimes I say dumb things or have stupid takes, if someone addresses that in the right manner I know they are talking about the post and its craziness, rather then saying that they believe Im a lunatic. Not sure if Im explaining that well.

Anyways, I get what you’re trying to convey and on some level I agree.

No matter what a rule is someone will always look to push things. It's what we do.

IMO it's best to keep things very basic and very simple and talk to people when the push things to an extreme.

Again, this is a forum and a community. Encouraging people to debate each other is what this place is for.

I'm against more rules but I'm all about more accountability.

This sudden, I was baited so I had to insult him back, is BS.
 
I want to put to vote: that we close the OT. You people are utterly fucking miserable, and this forum is one giant fight. All the time.

Mention something about guns, it becomes personal. Mention something about riots in downtown Portland, it becomes political. Mention something about Trump, it becomes a war zone.

Leave the forum for basketball only. I'll even change my avatar to something more appropriate as a sign of good will.

Just....please God, close the OT.

Or have people post other things besides politics. I love the threads about Marzy's boat and the additions Maris has made to his bunker. I think the tiki bar he added last month was a nice touch and really warmed up the place.

But where do we draw the line? It seems like anything can be turned political on this forum.
 
I like it. I've always been a fan of chaos though. I very rarely get triggered by something posted on a forum like this. On the rare occasion I do I try to check myself and ask why that is.

As someone who's right of center, I used to enjoy it too. Until I found out that the Right is just as bad as the Left.

Case in point: I was called recently a Socialist, Unamerican piece of shit by a poster on a forum for gun owners yesterday for trying to explain that McSally lost Arizona because she ran a shit campaign, not because Arizonians like a nutbag like Senima.

And that's just one example.

I can't win no matter where I go. I've quickly learned that BOTH sides are poisonous, and nobody wins anything.

I like most Democrats, Republicans, Independents or any other affiliation. There are also some I don't like from all groups but hating all people from a specific group is actually sad.

I hate it. The OT used to be fun. I had such a good time arguing and having something that resembled conversation. Since Trump got elected its gone downhill at breakneck speed
 
I just read through this and decided to log on because I think what I have to say is important and hope some others do to.

@dviss1 You have been in my home, rode in my car and I consider you a friend. Friends can be honest correct? I hopes so because I aim to be honest with my friends.

I'm pretty put off by you on this forum lately. Why?

Because of statements like "yall white folk", and "all your folk" and the generalizing you keep implying.

I find these to be pretty racist comments. You may not, but then you state that some comments others make are racist and they don't think so. You cant have it both ways. If you want people to be more aware and sensitive to racial aimed statements, then you should lead by example.

You yourself argue and fight for equality and yet you use segregating comments quite often.

I'm telling you as a friend, it doesn't help your cause and frankly, makes people like me, who want to support your cause, not want to anymore.

Just because it isn't a forum rule being broke, doesn't mean that its just okay to say anything that isn't against the rules.

There is soo much hypocrisy in this forum in general, it has pushed me away for the most part. Not just by you, but by many.

I bring it up to you because I consider you a friend. I hope you read this as a positive and not a negative.

Come on Chris. This isn't Trump's fault. We were divided, even on this forum, long before he came into office.

And let's remember that 95% of this forum aren't exactly Trump supporters.....so you can't blame them either.

I know there was division before Trump it just seems like it has gotten worse since. I think because a large majority of the threads in OT are conservatives and liberals going back and forth on politics, mostly surrounding the Trump presidency. It seems like there used be more variety in OT. I agree politics is very poisonous.

I posted a screen shot showing you I didn't. If the choice was mod in the main forum and not the OT forum I would have voted yes.

There are many reasons but this post where you accuse @MarAzul of being a racist is the number one.
